Fugitive task force nabs Clay Place gunman in Maryland

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A 31-year-old Southeast D.C. man has been arrested in connection with a March shooting that left one person hospitalized, after the suspect was located in Hyattsville by a regional fugitive task force.

Shooting victim seeks help at fire station after attack

Around 6:20 p.m. on March 17, a man suffering from gunshot wounds entered a DC Fire EMS station in the Unit block of 49th Street, Northeast. He was transported to a hospital for treatment.

Detectives later determined that the shooting had taken place in the 4000 block of Clay Place, Northeast. The investigation led to the identification of a suspect.

Fugitive task force makes arrest in Maryland

On Friday, April 11, members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested Mickyel Goodwin of Southeast, D.C., in Hyattsville, Maryland. The arrest was made pursuant to a DC Superior Court warrant.

Goodwin has been charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun). The investigation remains ongoing.
