Man busted with loaded gun and high-capacity magazine in Brick Township traffic stop

BRICK TOWNSHIP, NJ — A Lakewood man was arrested and charged with multiple weapons offenses after Brick Township Police discovered a loaded handgun during a traffic stop earlier this month, authorities announced.

Victor M. Conde, 38, was taken into custody by the department’s Street Crimes Unit (SCU) on April 9, 2025, following a motor vehicle stop in the Maple Leaf Park neighborhood. Detectives had been conducting general surveillance in the area when they observed a suspicious vehicle and noted several traffic violations.

Officers initiated a stop with the assistance of a marked patrol unit. During the encounter, police developed suspicion and conducted a search of the vehicle, locating a loaded 9mm handgun with a high-capacity magazine in the backseat.

Conde was arrested on scene and transported to Brick Police Headquarters. He was later charged with unlawful possession of a weapon (2nd degree), possession of a high-capacity magazine (4th degree), and being a certain person not to possess a firearm (2nd degree). He was then transported to the Ocean County Jail.

Police Chief David Forrester announced the arrest in a release dated April 15. The charges are pending adjudication.
