Wilkes-Barre, PA — Police are investigating a robbery that unfolded early Thursday morning in a South Main Street business restroom, where a man was threatened with a broomstick and robbed of $70.

The incident occurred around 3:25 a.m. on May 1, when Wilkes-Barre City Police responded to a call from a 55-year-old male victim who said two suspects — a Black male and a Black female — followed him into the restroom and demanded money.

One of the suspects reportedly used a broomstick to threaten the victim, who complied by handing over the cash.

After receiving the cash, both suspects left the scene in a white Kia sedan and have not yet been located. Their identities remain unknown, and no surveillance footage or suspect descriptions have been released.

The incident occurred inside a business restroom, though police did not name the establishment.

The Wilkes-Barre City Police Department confirmed the investigation is ongoing. Officers continue to gather evidence and seek leads in an effort to identify and apprehend the suspects involved.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Wilkes-Barre City Police.

A South Main Street robbery involving a broomstick and stolen cash remains unsolved as police search for two suspects.
