WALDORF, Md. — A Mega Millions ticket worth $20,000 was sold in Waldorf for the May 13 drawing, Maryland Lottery officials confirmed Wednesday.
The winning ticket, purchased at the 7-Eleven located at 11575 Berry Road in Charles County, matched four of the five white ball numbers and the Mega Ball — 6, 29, 33, 47, 68, and 20. The match qualified the player for a third-tier prize of $10,000.
Under Mega Millions’ updated game format introduced in April, the ticket included a built-in 2X multiplier, doubling the total prize to $20,000. All $5 plays now come with a randomly selected multiplier ranging from 2X to 10X.
No one matched all six numbers in the May 13 drawing, pushing the jackpot to an estimated $122 million annuity — or a $54.8 million cash option — for the next drawing on May 16. Maryland saw more than 5,700 winning tickets among the over 208,000 sold nationally.
Winners are encouraged to sign the back of their tickets and store them safely. Prizes of more than $25,000 must be claimed at Maryland Lottery headquarters in Baltimore by appointment or by mail.
