ATWATER, OH — An Atwater resident has claimed a top prize in the Ohio Lottery’s VIP Millions scratch-off game, choosing the cash option of $500,000 instead of annual payments, officials announced Wednesday.
The winning ticket was sold at Grace Energy LLC, located at 1497 State Route 44 in Randolph. After mandatory state and federal tax withholdings totaling 28 percent, the player will take home $360,000.
VIP Millions is a $50 scratch-off game that offers a top prize of $40,000 a year for 25 years. The cash option provides a one-time payment of $500,000. As of May 21, 35 top prizes remain in circulation.
The game continues to be among the Ohio Lottery’s most sought-after high-value instant tickets, with several top-tier prizes still available across the state.
The Ohio Lottery has contributed over $33 billion to education in Ohio since 1974.
