WASHINGTON, D.C. — A 16-year-old boy was shot and killed Tuesday night in Southeast DC, prompting a homicide investigation by the Metropolitan Police Department.
At approximately 9:41 p.m., officers from the First District responded to the 1000 block of 3rd Place SE following a report of gunfire. Upon arrival, they found the juvenile male unresponsive, not breathing, and suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
DC Fire and EMS responded and pronounced the victim dead at the scene. He has been identified as Dominique Dingle, 16, of Southeast, D.C.
No arrests have been made, and the motive remains under investigation. Detectives are continuing to collect evidence and review surveillance footage from the area.
The Metropolitan Police Department is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of anyone responsible for this homicide.
