NEWARK, N.J. — Newark police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying two individuals caught on surveillance video stealing packages from an apartment mailroom earlier this month.

According to Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda Sr., the theft occurred around 1 p.m. on May 13 in the 90 block of Midland Place. A tenant reported that she received a delivery notification for a pair of black boots, but the package was missing when she arrived at the mailroom.

Surveillance footage showed a man and a woman removing multiple packages from the area, including the tenant’s boots.

“Suspects pictured below… stole several packages delivered to an apartment building on May 13, 2025,” the department stated in a public alert issued two days ago.

Police release footage, offer tip line for information

The suspects have not yet been identified, and police have not disclosed whether additional items were reported missing from other residents in the building.

Director Miranda is urging anyone with information to contact the Newark Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). Tips can be submitted anonymously and may be eligible for a reward.
