BALTIMORE, MD — An 18-year-old male was caught in the crossfire of a road rage incident Monday evening and shot while walking along Wegworth Lane, according to Baltimore Police.
The incident unfolded around 7:12 p.m. in the 2700 block of Wegworth Lane, where officers initially responded to reports of shots fired. Shortly after, police were alerted to a walk-in gunshot victim at a nearby hospital.
At the hospital, officers located the teen being treated for a gunshot wound to the wrist. He told investigators that he was walking in the area when he heard gunfire and realized he had been hit. He is currently listed in stable condition.
A preliminary investigation revealed the shooting stemmed from an altercation between two vehicles. Shots were fired from the passenger side of one of the cars before the two vehicles collided in the street. The suspects, both the driver and passenger from the vehicle that initiated gunfire, fled the scene on foot. The driver of the other vehicle remained at the scene and was uninjured.
