Teen arrested after robbery on Iowa Avenue in Northwest DC

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A 14-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with a robbery that occurred Tuesday afternoon in Northwest, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.

At approximately 4:56 p.m. on May 27, officers responded to a report of a robbery in the 4400 block of Iowa Avenue NW. Investigators say the suspect approached a victim, assaulted them, and then took their property before fleeing the area.

Detectives quickly identified the suspect and made the arrest shortly after the incident. The juvenile, a resident of Northwest, was taken into custody and charged with robbery.

The victim’s condition was not disclosed. Police did not specify what items were taken during the robbery.

The case remains under investigation.
