JACKSON TOWNSHIP, N.J. — In a heartbreaking twist of fate, a sweet black-and-white pit bull named Sasha slipped away from her forever family just moments after being adopted — mere seconds before her new life was set to begin.
Sasha had just been adopted from the Ocean County Animal Facility on May 28, 2025, and was being loaded into her new owner’s car when she became frightened and bolted. She was last seen near South Hope Chapel Road in Jackson Township.

Sasha is described as a small, 40-pound black-and-white pit bull with a white belly and paws. She was wearing a pink checkerboard collar and is microchipped and registered. While incredibly sweet, she can be skittish around unfamiliar people and may run if approached too quickly — which is why her family is urging anyone who spots her not to chase.
Local animal control teams from Jackson and Manchester were quickly notified and have joined the search efforts. Volunteers and neighbors are keeping watch in hopes of bringing Sasha safely home.
If you see Sasha or have any information, please contact local animal control or submit a tip through PawBoost. Her new family is waiting with open arms, still believing her happy ending is just around the corner.
