HAMILTON, Ohio — A routine stop at Kroger Co #909 turned into a life-changing moment for one shopper who landed a $1-million annuity top prize in the Ohio Lottery’s $20 Monopoly Bonus Spectacular 100x scratch-off game.
The winner, whose name was not released by lottery officials, opted for the $500,000 cash option and will receive approximately $360,000 after federal and state tax withholdings.
The winning ticket was sold at the Kroger store located at 1474 Hamilton Richmond Road. The retailer will receive a $10,000 sales bonus for selling the top prize-winning ticket.
According to the Ohio Lottery, the overall odds of winning any prize in the Monopoly Bonus Spectacular 100x game are 1 in 3.48. The scratch-off is part of a popular series tied to the Monopoly brand and offers multiple prize tiers.
