by Local News Report

FAIRFAX, Va. — A Fairfax man struck it big with a $2,827,472 jackpot while playing the Virginia Lottery’s online game Monopoly Super Spin, the agency announced.

Samer Jarrah landed the progressive top prize while playing on the Lottery’s website. The game, one of many online instant options offered through valottery.com and the mobile app, has odds of 1 in 3.88 for winning any prize.

Monopoly Super Spin is part of a growing catalog of digital games offered by the Virginia Lottery, alongside online ticket purchases for Powerball, Mega Millions, Cash4Life, and other draw games. Players must be 18 or older and located within Virginia state lines to play.

Jarrah, a Fairfax City resident, has not yet announced how he plans to use the nearly $2.83 million jackpot. His hometown received more than $487,000 in Virginia Lottery education funding last fiscal year alone.

Lottery revenue supports public education across Virginia

In Fiscal Year 2024, the Virginia Lottery generated more than $934 million for K-12 education, accounting for roughly 10 percent of the state’s public school budget. All profits from the Lottery are allocated to school divisions statewide.
