Woman shot inside Philadelphia club, One dead and another injured in overnight violence

One man is dead and two more are recovering after a violent night across Philadelphia left investigators working three separate cases.

PHILADELPHIA, PA — A series of violent incidents early Sunday left one man dead and two others injured across three Philadelphia police districts, prompting separate investigations by homicide and district detectives.

In the 9th District, officers responded to a shooting on the 200 block of South Camac Street. An adult male victim was found with a gunshot wound and was transported by police to Jefferson Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 6:20 a.m., authorities said. The Homicide Unit is actively investigating and has not released any suspect information or motive.

Earlier, in the 35th District, a stabbing occurred around 4:03 a.m. on the 5200 block of Rising Sun Avenue. Police transported an adult male with a stab wound to Einstein Medical Center, where he remains under treatment. No arrests have been made, and Northwest Detectives are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.

In a third incident, a female victim was grazed by gunfire inside a nightclub located on the 2500 block of Island Avenue in the 12th District at approximately 1:15 a.m. She was taken to Presbyterian Medical Center by Medic 19. Police have not announced any arrests, and the motive remains unknown.

Investigations underway across multiple units

All three incidents are being treated as active investigations. The shooting on Camac Street is under the jurisdiction of the Homicide Unit. The stabbing on Rising Sun Avenue is being handled by Northwest Detectives, and the Island Avenue nightclub shooting is being reviewed by the Shooting Investigation Group (SIG).

Police have not identified any of the victims and are withholding additional details pending notification of families and further investigation.
