BALTIMORE, MD — A Baltimore man is celebrating a $100,000 Maryland Lottery win after a routine stop at Royal Farms turned a scratch-off purchase into a life-changing payout.
Motivated by a friend’s recent lottery prize, the winner purchased several scratch-offs after work from Royal Farms at 2050 Fleet Street. One of the tickets, a $10 Ice scratch-off, turned out to be a top-prize winner worth $100,000.
The man checked the tickets inside the store and immediately returned home to share the news with his family. He later claimed the prize at Maryland Lottery headquarters on June 2, accompanied by his wife.
He plans to use the winnings to pay off bills and begin saving for his son’s education. The Royal Farms location where the ticket was sold will receive a $1,000 retailer bonus.
The Ice game launched on April 21. As of June 3, four top prizes of $100,000 remain, along with several other large prizes still available.
