BRONX, NY — A 68-year-old man was assaulted Friday evening in the Bronx after a verbal dispute escalated into a violent attack, according to police.
The incident occurred at approximately 6:20 p.m. near Davidson Avenue and West 184th Street. Authorities reported that an unknown individual approached the victim and engaged in a verbal altercation before briefly fleeing the scene.
Police said the suspect returned shortly afterward armed with a blunt object and began striking the victim multiple times in the head, face, and body. After the assault, the suspect fled the location on foot in an unknown direction.
The victim sustained multiple lacerations and abrasions during the attack. EMS transported him to Saint Barnabas Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition and received medical evaluation.
Investigators are actively searching for the suspect and have released a description to assist the public.

The suspect is described as a male with a thin build and light complexion, wearing black framed glasses and long black hair. He was last seen wearing a black t-shirt, blue jeans, and white sneakers.
Authorities are reviewing nearby surveillance footage and interviewing potential witnesses in an effort to identify and locate the suspect.
No arrests have been made, and the motive behind the dispute remains unclear. The investigation is ongoing.
