Wall police make multiple arrests for DWI, drugs, and outstanding warrants

WALL TOWNSHIP, N.J. — The Wall Township Police Department reported a series of arrests last week ranging from shoplifting to drug possession and multiple driving while intoxicated (DWI) charges.

On Tuesday, June 10, Patrolman Mark Daugherty arrested John Cassidy, 61, of Wall, after Cassidy turned himself in on a shoplifting charge stemming from an incident at Foodtown on State Highway 35. He was processed and released on a summons.

Early Wednesday morning, June 11, officers made three separate DWI arrests on State Highway 138 and State Highway 35. Patrolman Trent Powers arrested Ryan Dickinson, 24, of Forked River, at approximately 12:16 a.m., while Patrolman Orin McKay arrested James Williamson, 23, of Matawan, at approximately 1:04 a.m. About an hour later, Patrolman Clint Forgach arrested Kevin Sinclair, 24, of Toms River at 2:06 a.m. All three individuals were processed and released in accordance with John’s Law.

Later that day, Patrolman Kevin Orender arrested Steven Hickey, 41, of Belmar, for possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop on State Highway 35. Hickey was processed and released on a summons.

Multiple theft, drug, and warrant arrests

On June 11, Patrolman Daniel Grothues arrested Suri Castrillo, 18, of Red Bank, following an investigation into a theft of lost property and fraudulent credit card use at ShopRite on State Highway 35 from June 3. Castrillo was processed and released on a summons.

On Thursday, June 12, Patrolman Thomas Gavaghan arrested Jeremiah Clark, 37, of Philadelphia, for an outstanding criminal warrant out of Hi-Nella during an investigation at ShopRite on State Highway 34. Clark was processed and released on his own recognizance.

Friday, June 13, brought multiple arrests related to narcotics and outstanding warrants. Patrolman Johan Moreno-Garcia arrested Daniel Bennette, 50, of Belmar, for possession of crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop on Marconi Road. Bennette was processed and released on a summons.

Patrolman Shane Killeen arrested Anthony Mills, 36, of Brick, for a wanted person warrant from the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office along with additional traffic warrants from Stafford and Tuckerton. Mills was processed and turned over to Ocean County authorities.

DWI and warrant arrests continue into the weekend

Later Friday, Patrolman Johan Moreno-Garcia arrested Carlton A. Smith, 56, of Ocean City, for an outstanding traffic warrant from Gloucester City following a stop on Lakewood Road. Smith was processed and released on his own recognizance.

The week concluded on Sunday, June 15, with the arrest of Anthony J. Daniels, 65, of Lakewood. Patrolman Kyle Pelech stopped Daniels on State Highway 33 around 1:03 a.m. for DWI. Daniels also had active traffic warrants from Jackson, Freehold, and Asbury Park. He was processed and later turned over to the Jackson Police Department.

Wall Township police reported no injuries or incidents during the arrests.
