MCKEESPORT, Pa. — A 15-year-old boy was critically injured Tuesday evening after being struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross a busy intersection in McKeesport, police said.
The Allegheny County Police Department’s Homicide and Collision Reconstruction Unit responded to the incident following a request for assistance. Emergency crews were dispatched at 6:51 p.m. to the area of Lysle Boulevard and Coursin Street after receiving a 9-1-1 call about a pedestrian being hit.
First responders found the teenage victim at the scene and transported him to a nearby hospital, where he was listed in critical condition. The driver of the vehicle involved remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
Detectives said the teen was attempting to cross Lysle Boulevard in front of a Pittsburgh Regional Transit bus when he was hit by a vehicle traveling in the left lane. No further details about the vehicle or the driver were released.
Investigators have not announced any charges and are still working to determine the full circumstances of the crash.
