ALLENTOWN, PA — A man was arrested Thursday morning after attempting to rob two businesses within minutes of each other in Allentown, according to the Allentown Police Department.

At approximately 10:50 a.m. on June 19, officers responded to a report of a strong-arm robbery at Domino’s Pizza, located at 2 E. Susquehanna Street. Employees told police that a male suspect dressed in all black entered the store and demanded the employee open the cash register. The suspect fled the scene without obtaining any money and got into a nearby parked vehicle.

Officers were able to quickly identify the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop near North 11th Street and Hamilton Street.

During the investigation, police discovered the same suspect had also attempted to rob a 7-Eleven located at 1201 Hamilton Street. In that incident, clerks refused to comply with the suspect’s demands, and he again left empty-handed.

Suspect taken into custody without further incident

The suspect, who was not immediately named, was taken into custody at the scene of the traffic stop. No injuries were reported in either attempted robbery.

Charges are pending as police continue to investigate both incidents.
