U.S. launches airstrikes on Iranian nuclear facilities in coordinated military operation

by Breaking Local News Report

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The United States military carried out coordinated airstrikes on three nuclear sites in Iran late Saturday, targeting the country’s uranium enrichment infrastructure in what officials have described as a major strategic operation.

According to an official statement from the Department of Defense, the U.S. targeted facilities in Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan, locations long linked to Iran’s nuclear program. “Our objective was the destruction of Iran’s nuclear enrichment capacity and a stop to the nuclear threat posed by the world’s number one state sponsor of terror,” the DOD said.

President Donald Trump appeared to confirm the operation in a post shared online Sunday, stating that “a full payload of BOMBS was dropped on the primary site, Fordow,” and that “all planes are safely on their way home.” He described the strikes as a “very successful attack” and congratulated U.S. military personnel for their execution of the mission.

The Pentagon echoed this sentiment in a statement issued by @DODResponse, quoting the president as saying: “Tonight, I can report to the world that the strikes were a spectacular military success.”

Targeted nuclear facilities and international response

The targeted sites—Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan—are all central components of Iran’s nuclear infrastructure. Fordow is known for its deep underground uranium enrichment facility, while Natanz has long been a focal point of international nuclear inspections. Esfahan houses a uranium conversion plant essential to the country’s enrichment process.

The international community has not yet issued formal reactions, but global leaders and organizations are expected to weigh in as details develop. There has been no immediate word from Iranian state media or the Iranian government.

The airspace surrounding the targeted areas has reportedly been secured following the operation, with no U.S. casualties or aircraft losses confirmed.

The U.S. military says it has delivered a “clear message” to deter Iran’s nuclear ambitions through a set of strikes it claims were successfully completed.
