CUMBERLAND, Md. — A man is being held without bond after allegedly attacking two people at a residence and attempting to hold one of them underwater during a backyard pool assault in Cumberland on Tuesday.
On June 24, officers responded to a call for an assault in the 200 block of Seymour Street. Upon arrival, they spoke with multiple victims and witnesses. An investigation revealed that a male suspect had physically assaulted two individuals at the home.
During the incident, the suspect reportedly tried to submerge one of the victims in a small pool located on the property. He was taken into custody at the scene.
The suspect was identified as Donald Joseph Pryor, 58, of Cumberland. While being placed under arrest, Pryor also assaulted a police officer.
Suspect Held Without Bond Following Initial Appearance
Pryor was transported to the Allegany County Detention Center following an Initial Appearance before a District Court Commissioner. He is currently being held without bond.
He faces multiple charges including first-degree assault, two counts of second-degree assault, and second-degree assault on law enforcement.
No additional information about the condition of the victims has been released.
