by Local News Report

Delaware State Police arrested two men after a vehicle pursuit in Bridgeville led to the discovery of guns, drugs, and ammunition.

On July 30 around 3:05 p.m., members of the Sussex County Governor’s Task Force attempted to stop a black Dodge Charger with a registration violation on Coverdale Road near Seashore Highway. The vehicle fled recklessly, prompting police to end the pursuit for safety reasons.

Investigators later located the Dodge at a residence on Genesis Lane in Harrington, where they found the driver, Tracey Johnson, 28, of Harrington, and passenger Joseph Davis, 26, of Georgetown, attempting to cover the car with a tarp. Both men were detained without incident.

Searches of the men, vehicle, and surrounding area uncovered a loaded 9mm handgun with an extended magazine, a sawed-off 12-gauge shotgun, ammunition of various calibers, an AR-15 upper receiver and magazine, heroin, a xylazine/acetaminophen mixture, acetaminophen, and digital scales.

Johnson, who is prohibited from possessing firearms, was arraigned and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on an $89,500 cash bond. Davis was also charged with multiple offenses.
