Man arrested after East Market Street assault in Wilkes-Barre domestic dispute

WILKES-BARRE, PA — A 59-year-old man was arrested Tuesday evening following a reported domestic assault on East Market Street, according to the Wilkes-Barre City Police Department.

Officers responded to a residence at 7:52 p.m. after receiving a call about a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, they spoke with the 49-year-old female victim who alleged that Robert Muchler, of Wilkes-Barre, had assaulted her during a verbal altercation.

According to police, the victim stated that Muchler struck her multiple times, grabbed her neck, and broke her cellphone during the incident.

Muchler was taken into custody at the scene and transported to City Headquarters for processing.
