Caernarvon Township man facing child porn charges waives hearing

by Local News Report

A Caernarvon Township man accused of possessing more than 100 images and videos of child sexual abuse material will have his case move forward to county court after waiving his preliminary hearing.

Antonio Hernandez, 57, appeared before Judge Raymond Sheller on July 25 and waived the hearing on charges of disseminating photos of child sex acts, possession of child sexual abuse material, and two counts of criminal use of a communication facility.

Detectives said they began investigating Hernandez in April 2024 after receiving a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children linking a social media account transmitting child pornography to his IP address. Police executed a search warrant at his California Road home in May 2025, seizing a phone, laptop, thumb drives, and external hard drives containing more than 100 images and videos.

Hernandez denied to investigators that he used the account or possessed any child pornography. He is free on $50,000 unsecured bail. Assistant District Attorney Fritz Haverstick is prosecuting the case.
