Dorchester robbery suspect caught with nine warrants and eight boxes of ice cream

A woman wanted on nine outstanding warrants was arrested Tuesday after allegedly robbing a Dorchester CVS and attempting to flee with eight boxes of ice cream.

Officers responded around 1:30 p.m. to a report of a person armed with a knife inside the CVS at 468 Blue Hill Avenue. They located and detained Omaila Medina, 41, of Boston, who matched the suspect description and was found holding the frozen goods.

Investigators determined Medina had allegedly pulled a knife on an employee before leaving the store with the ice cream. Police said the items were recovered and returned to the store.

A records check revealed Medina had nine active warrants for various offenses. She was taken into custody without incident and arraigned in Dorchester District Court on an armed robbery charge along with the existing warrants.
