Alexandria ocasio-cortez confirms crisis at america's southern border

NAVY YARD, WASHINGTON, D.C.-Nothing has been going right of late for socialist starlett Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez after an embarrassing defeat in the Senate of her Green New Deal, but today, she acknowledged the crisis at America’s southern border.

“When you’re looking at this photo, you’re looking at a mirror. This is America. This is Texas. This is our the course of action, the one we chose,” Cortez said as record numbers of illegal aliens are now pouring across the border into the United States with nowhere to go.

Cortez referenced a photo of illegal aliens being detained under a bridge overpass because our border security network is currently going through a massive overload.

The U.S. Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) shares Cortez’s concerns.

“CBP is facing an unprecedented humanitarian and border security crisis all along our Southwest Border,” said U.S. Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Kevin K. McAleenan. “And nowhere has that crisis manifested more acutely than here in El Paso Sector. Here in El Paso, we have almost 3,500 migrants in custody this morning, in facilities designed for many fewer. We had over 1,000 apprehensions on Monday. The vast majority are families from Central America.”

CBP is on pace to record more than 100,000 apprehensions for the month of March. It would be the highest monthly total in a decade.
