WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — After an extended morning at Trump International Golf Club, President Donald Trump wrapped up his rounds and prepared to depart, according to the White House press pool.

Reporters, who had been holding in a nearby library conference room, were transported to a parking lot across from the club at 11:19 a.m. as Trump finished golfing.

While waiting, the press pool was treated to donuts provided by the Associated Press, described as a “multi-sensory experience, filled with surprises.”

Then, the press pool was rattled enough to report what happened next.

As the group awaited Trump’s exit, a cyclist wearing full-body spandex rode past and shouted, “Yo, fake news, what’s up?” multiple times before riding away.

According to Michael Birnbaum of the Washington Post, His outfit featured a pro-gun slogan reading “Armed Cyclist,” accompanied by a handgun graphic inside a green circle.

ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Maryland Senate Republicans are raising concerns after the Board of Revenue Estimates announced an additional $280 million write-down, increasing the state’s budget shortfall to $3.3 billion.

In a statement Thursday, Senate Minority Leader Steve Hershey called Maryland’s financial situation “abysmal” and criticized the state’s reliance on federal jobs and funding. “Economists have warned for at least twenty years that our economy is too dependent on federal jobs,” Hershey said.

Senate Minority Whip Justin Ready accused Democrats of prioritizing tax increases over spending cuts. “Thoughtful, commonsense cuts to the budget seem to have been rejected by the Democratic establishment, who refuse to face reality,” Ready said.

The budget deficit has sparked a political battle in Annapolis, with Republicans pushing for reductions in state spending while Governor Wes Moore and Democratic leaders consider revenue measures to close the gap.

ORANGE COUNTY, N.Y. — A grand jury report has detailed how absentee ballots were mishandled in a village’s 2023 election, outlining procedural failures and recommending steps to prevent similar issues in the future.

The report follows a civil lawsuit alleging that 14 unregistered individuals improperly cast absentee ballots, while another 16 applied for and received ballots before registering to vote. The Orange County District Attorney’s Office presented evidence to the grand jury, which examined election procedures and made recommendations to strengthen transparency and efficiency.

The report found that the village clerk required repeated guidance from the Orange County Board of Elections and failed to check absentee ballot requests against registered voter lists. While the clerk acted in good faith, the report cited inexperience as a key factor in the mishandling of ballots. The grand jury also noted that a candidate for office had hiring and firing authority over the clerk, raising concerns about the neutrality of the election process.

The grand jury praised the independent oversight of the Orange County Board of Elections, suggesting that moving village elections to November and placing them under county administration could improve voter participation and election integrity. The report also highlighted the need for better training for village clerks and stricter adherence to election law requirements.

Additionally, the report found that a village official inferred how certain residents voted based on an absentee ballot spreadsheet, leading to a candidate’s son confronting a voter about their choice. It also noted that many individuals who incorrectly applied for absentee ballots were unaware they were not registered and did not intend to commit fraud.

The findings underscore concerns over election oversight and highlight potential reforms to prevent future disputes.

RICHMOND, Va. — Virginia’s Democratic U.S. Senators, Tim Kaine and Mark Warner, are facing backlash after voting against a measure that would have banned transgender women from competing in women’s sports and using female locker rooms and restrooms.

Critics argue that the decision undermines fairness in women’s athletics and raises safety concerns. “Our daughters and granddaughters have worked too hard to have to compete against men in sports. It’s not safe, and it’s definitely not an equal playing field,” opponents of the vote said, referencing past incidents in Virginia schools, including one in Loudoun County.

Supporters of Kaine and Warner’s stance argue that the vote aligns with principles of inclusion and civil rights protections for transgender individuals.

The debate over transgender participation in sports remains a polarizing issue as lawmakers and advocacy groups continue to push for legislative action on both sides.

A Kentucky resident was sentenced to 30 years in prison for producing child sexual abuse material (CSAM) while in the Philippines.

Court documents state that Robert Maxwell Werner, 46, from Walton, Kentucky, engaged in illegal activities between February 2021 and November 2021. Werner reportedly bought access from a Filipino associate to several minor victims for various sexual activities and also paid for customized CSAM. He is accused of sexually abusing minors during five in-person meetings at different locations in the Philippines and providing them with money and basic necessities.

Werner’s plea agreement includes an admission of engaging in sexually explicit acts with at least one minor to create visual depictions from July 2021 to November 2021. He further admitted to transporting this material into the U.S. and continued soliciting CSAM after his return to the country.

The FBI’s Child Exploitation Operational Unit, along with Philippine authorities, investigated the case. It was prosecuted by Trial Attorney Rachel L. Rothberg and Assistant U.S. Attorney Erin Roth as part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative addressing child sexual exploitation and abuse.

Maryland Governor Wes Moore

ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Rep. Andy Harris (R-Md.) condemned Governor Wes Moore and Maryland Democrats for attempting to link President Donald Trump to the state’s worsening financial outlook and new tax proposals.

In a statement, Harris called the claim “absolutely absurd,” arguing that Maryland’s projected $3 billion deficit was the result of reckless spending and aggressive taxation by the Democrat-controlled General Assembly. “This is classic Democrat misdirection—create a mess, then point fingers at anyone but themselves,” Harris said.

The deficit projection was first reported in November 2024 by nonpartisan analysts, months before Trump’s inauguration in January. Harris questioned how Trump could be responsible for what he called “fiscal mismanagement” in Annapolis.

The debate comes as Maryland leaders consider new taxes and budget adjustments to address the shortfall, while Republicans push back against what they see as misplaced blame.
