PATERSON, NJ – Large sections of Paterson have gone without running water since Friday as crews work to repair a major break in the city’s water system involving a custom-fabricated 30-inch pipe.

The Passaic Valley Water Commission said some neighborhoods are slowly regaining service, with pressure beginning to rise and leaks being reduced. Temporary pumps are in place to boost supply, but the system remains fragile and needs time to stabilize. Officials estimate it could take another 12 to 24 hours before more consistent pressure reaches additional areas.

Residents with water are being urged to avoid nonessential use — including lawn watering, filling large containers, and opening fire hydrants — to speed recovery for those still without service. A boil water advisory remains in effect until further notice.

Trenton, NJ – On football fields across the country, loyalties run deep — but in New Jersey this season, something unusual is stirring. The colors fans are wearing, the numbers they’re repping, and the names they’re proudly sporting aren’t following the expected playbook.

The latest search data reveals a sharp shift in the Garden State’s game-day fashion. The most coveted jersey isn’t just popular — it’s dominating the field in ways that leave rivals far behind. Every click, every search, every fan deciding what to pull over their shoulders is adding to a tidal wave that no one saw coming.

Even more surprising, the usual hometown heroes aren’t anywhere near the top. In fact, the teams that share the state’s biggest stage have been pushed down the rankings, replaced by a rising force that’s captured New Jersey’s attention and refuses to let go.

It was clear from the search numbers this year that New Jersey football fans have a favorite, and his name is not on the 2025 roster for either New York football team.

His name is Saquon Barkley.

FlashPicks analyzed Google search data for NFL player jerseys across every U.S. state, and Barkley’s number 26 Philadelphia Eagles jersey came out on top in the Garden State with 56,700 searches so far this year.

The former New York Giants running back, now a key part of the Eagles offense, also holds the title for the most searched NFL jersey across the country. In New Jersey, Barkley’s dominance was followed by fellow Eagles Jalen Hurts and rookie cornerback Cooper DeJean, securing the second and third most-searched jerseys.

The study shows a stark contrast for New York’s teams. The most popular Giants player jersey belongs to wide receiver Malik Nabers, who ranked 15th in the state. The Jets fared even worse — their highest entry came in at 51st place. Interestingly, former Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers still placed sixth overall with 7,000 searches for his jersey despite no longer leading the team.

The data paints a clear picture: New Jersey’s NFL fans may share a border with New York, but their jersey preferences are leaning heavily toward Philadelphia’s green.

――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――

Key Points

  • Saquon Barkley’s Eagles jersey leads New Jersey searches with 56,700 so far this year.
  • Jalen Hurts and Cooper DeJean rank second and third, showing Eagles dominance in the state.
  • Giants and Jets players rank low, with their top jerseys in 15th and 51st place respectively.

New Jersey’s search history shows a deep shift in football loyalties toward Philadelphia.

SEASIDE HEIGHTS, NJ – For decades, the Ocean County GOP Chairman stood by the side of every Republican candidate running for state office when they visited Ocean County. This time, he hasn’t only been missing in action, he’s working to derail Jack Ciattiarelli’s political campaign against Democrat Mikie Sherrill.

On Saturday, hundreds of Republican supporters gathered at the Beachcomber Bar & Grill in Seaside Heights for the “New Jersey Unites” rally, a highly publicized event aimed at galvanizing support for GOP gubernatorial candidate Jack Ciattarelli ahead of the 2025 New Jersey governor’s race.

The event, organized to foster party unity after a contentious June primary, was notably missing a key figure: Ocean County GOP Chairman George Gilmore, whose absence underscored ongoing divisions within the county’s powerful Republican organization.

Ciattarelli, the former assemblyman who secured the Republican nomination with a decisive 66.49% of the vote in Ocean County against conservative radio host Bill Spadea, used the rally to energize supporters and outline his vision for a “safer and more affordable New Jersey.”

The event featured prominent speakers, including Ciattarelli himself, conservative influencer Scott Presler, and radio personality Sid Rosenberg.

Presler, known for his voter registration drives, emphasized the importance of mobilizing voters, stating, “I ask for your vote for Jack on Tuesday, November 4th, 2025.” Rosenberg, a vocal Ciattarelli supporter, delivered a fiery speech urging Republicans to unite against Democratic nominee Mikie Sherrill.

The rally drew a diverse crowd, including grassroots activists, young Republicans, and longtime party loyalists, with attendees waving signs and chanting in support of Ciattarelli’s campaign. The festive atmosphere aimed to project strength and enthusiasm, though some attendees noted the absence of key Ocean County GOP figures typically present at such events.

Despite the enthusiastic turnout, the absence of Gilmore and several key Ocean County GOP dignitaries was conspicuous.

Sources allege that Gilmore, a convicted felon pardoned by former President Donald Trump in 2021, ordered his loyalists to boycott the event as part of a broader strategy to undermine Ciattarelli’s campaign.

Gilmore, who has served as a paid consultant for Spadea’s failed primary bid, is reportedly withholding the Ocean County GOP’s full support for Ciattarelli, demanding a role in the campaign—potentially including consulting gigs for himself and paid speaking engagements for Spadea—in exchange for his organization’s backing.

The county’s support of Ciattarelli appears to be ‘in name only’, against the wishes of the rank and file Republicans in the party, Gilmore is holding meaningful support hostage to sink Ciatarelli’s campaign. Gilmore repeatedly expressed a strong personal animosity toward Ciattarelli throutout the campaign and has been openly bragging that Ciattatrelli can’t win New Jersey without Ocean County, delcaring his influence among the county’s voters.

Gilmore’s waning influence will be put to the test on Election Day. A Ciattarelli win would be the final nail in the rapidly fading influence the chairman once wielded. A Ciattarelli loss would prove that Gilmore is still the boss in Ocean County.

According to a Gilmore operative who reached out to the Ciattarelli campaign after Spadea’s June defeat, Gilmore’s demands were framed as a condition for his support.

The Ciattarelli team, led by campaign manager Eric Arpert, has so far rebuffed what can only be described as an “extortionist offer,” choosing to focus on grassroots momentum rather than capitulating to Gilmore’s terms.

This standoff has deepened the rift within the Ocean County GOP, with Gilmore’s faction notably absent not only from the Seaside Heights rally but also from a recent Ciattarelli fundraiser in Bayville, where Gilmore allegedly instructed his shrinking circle of loyalists to either boycott or donate the bare minimum to Ciattarelli’s campaign, instead asking them to donate thousands to the OC GOP at a Gilmore run fundraiser days later at Charie’s restaurant in Bayhead. Charlie’s is owned by the Hesse family, which operates the Ocean County landfill, a private operation that receives lucrative municipal and county contracts across the region. It is not certain whether or not Gilmore receives kickbacks from those contracts or a consultant fee from Hesse.

Recent polls show Ciattarelli closing the gap with Sherrill, a former congresswoman and Democratic nominee, in a race that could be one of the closest in New Jersey’s recent history.

Ciattarelli’s campaign has leaned heavily on his strong performance in Ocean County during the primary, where he secured a commanding victory despite the county GOP’s endorsement of Spadea.

Support from high-profile figures, including former President Trump, and the removal of the county line from primary ballots were cited as key factors in his success.

Gilmore, according to those close to him, may be playing a long game. Insiders suggest he is hedging his bets on a potential Sherrill victory in 2025, positioning himself and Spadea for another shot at the governor’s seat in 2029.

This strategy, however, risks further alienating him within a party increasingly rallying behind Ciattarelli. Gilmore’s influence, while still significant in Ocean County—a Republican stronghold that delivered a 34-point margin for Ciattarelli in the 2021 gubernatorial election—has waned since his return to the chairmanship in 2022 after a narrow victory.

As the November 2025 election approaches, the divisions within the Ocean County GOP could have significant implications for Ciattarelli’s campaign. While the Seaside Heights rally succeeded in rallying hundreds of supporters, the absence of Gilmore and his allies, coupled with the exclusion of key local influencers, highlights the challenges Ciattarelli faces in unifying the party. For now, Ciattarelli remains focused on building momentum, with upcoming events planned across the state to counter Sherrill’s campaign and capitalize on his growing support among New Jersey voters.

Washington, D.C.President Donald Trump today declared what he called “Liberation Day” for the nation’s capital, unveiling a plan to tackle violent crime, homelessness, and citywide decay while blasting what he described as wasteful federal spending on public buildings.

In a series of statements on social media, Trump pledged to restore Washington, D.C., to what he called “the most beautiful capital in the world,” promising that “crime, savagery, filth, and scum will disappear” under his leadership. He drew comparisons to his self-described success in halting illegal immigration, claiming that in the past three months there have been “ZERO illegals” entering the United States, down from “millions the year before.”

Trump’s remarks targeted not only crime and safety concerns but also the physical state of the city.

He criticized the $3.1 billion renovation of the Federal Reserve building, saying the work could have been completed “far more elegantly” and at a fraction of the cost — between $50 million and $100 million — without prolonged construction delays and traffic disruptions. He argued the current renovation plan wasted $3 billion in taxpayer funds.

Addressing local leadership, Trump said D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser “is a good person” and acknowledged that she “has tried,” but asserted that repeated efforts have failed to reverse rising crime rates or address what he described as a growing cleanliness problem.

“The American public is not going to put up with it any longer,” Trump wrote. “Just like I took care of the Border… I will take care of our cherished Capital, and we will make it, truly, GREAT AGAIN!”

Trump’s plan, as outlined in his posts, appears to involve both law enforcement crackdowns and large-scale beautification projects aimed at clearing encampments, removing trash, and repairing public spaces. While specifics on funding, timelines, and partnerships were not provided, the tone of his announcement suggested an immediate and aggressive push.

He framed the current state of D.C. as a decline from its former glory, saying that “before the tents, squalor, filth, and crime, it was the most beautiful capital in the world.”

His promise to restore that image comes alongside his continued focus on high-profile public safety initiatives, linking urban cleanup with political messaging on law and order.

Trump also confirmed that he will hold a press conference at 10 a.m. in the White House press briefing room to provide more details on the initiative. He said the event will address not only crime prevention and public safety but also “cleanliness and the general physical renovation and condition” of Washington, D.C.
