PENSACOLA, FLORIDA – Guy Anthony Folta of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, was sentenced to serve 15 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to possession with intent to distribute over 50 grams of methamphetamine, heroin, and cocaine, possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, and possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon. Lawrence Keefe, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida, announced the sentence.

“Drugs and a weapon in the hands of a convicted felon is a menacing and potentially deadly combination, and the United States Attorney’s Office is committed to making sure such dangerous criminals are sentenced appropriately,” said U.S. Attorney Keefe. “Our law enforcement partners in Okaloosa County did an outstanding job in helping us bring Folta to justice.”

Folta, 49, was arrested on outstanding arrest warrants last June 29 by deputies from the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office. Following the arrest, deputies looked inside the vehicle Folta was driving and observed the grip of a pistol. After determining that Folta was a convicted felon, deputies obtained a search warrant authorizing the search of the vehicle, where they discovered a loaded stolen Glock 9 mm pistol with an obliterated serial number and 45 rounds of ammunition. Deputies also found 152 grams of methamphetamine packaged in five separate baggies, 10 grams of cocaine base, 21 grams of cocaine, 22 grams of heroin, and a digital scale.

“Our region should take notice of this case,” said Okaloosa County Sheriff Eric Aden. “This is a significant arrest and significant sentence for a man with a lengthy criminal record who was back out peddling poison to our citizens. But due to the ongoing joint efforts of our deputies and federal partners, Folta will now be off the streets for the next 15 years, making our region safer from the dangerous impacts of heroin, methamphetamine, and cocaine.”

The December 28 sentencing resulted from a joint investigation by the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney J. Ryan Love.

MIAMI , FLORIDA – On Friday, the former Procurement Director for Broward Health appeared in Ft. Lauderdale federal court to face charges accusing him of awarding lucrative government contracts to vendors in exchange for bribes and of trying to conceal his crimes by directing the bribe money to various bank accounts.

For about 10 years, Brian Bravo, 46, of Pembroke Pines, Florida, worked as the Corporate Procurement Officer and Director of Materials Management for the North Broward Hospital District, known in the community as Broward Health. According to the five-count indictment, from 2008 to 2015, Bravo engaged in a kickback scheme with vendors that provided products and services to Broward Health, including health care products, linens, compression sleeves, and printer repairs. During that time, two of the vendors and a consultant for two other vendors made illegal kickback payments totaling hundreds of thousands of dollars to Bravo in order to secure tens of millions of dollars of business from Broward Health, says the indictment. In 2015, Bravo directed the vendors to pay the bribes to two companies that Bravo controlled in order to hide the unlawful nature of the scheme, according to the indictment.

Bravo had his initial appearance and arraignment hearings on Friday before Magistrate Judge Patrick M. Hunt, who sits in Ft. Lauderdale.

Southern District of Florida U.S. Attorney Ariana Fajardo Orshan and FBI Miami Special Agent in Charge George L. Piro made the announcement.

FBI Miami investigated this case. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jeffrey N. Kaplan is prosecuting it. Assistant U.S. Attorney Daren Grove is handling asset forfeiture.

An indictment is only an accusation and a defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.

HOUSTON, TEXAS – A 45-year-old Houston man has been sent to prison and ordered to pay nearly $1 million following his convictions on five separate counts of sex trafficking involving adults and minors, announced U.S. Attorney Ryan K. Patrick.

A Houston federal jury deliberated for less than three hours before convicting David Mearis Oct. 18, 2019, following three days of trial.

Today, U.S. District Judge Kenneth Hoyt sentenced Mearis to life in federal prison on each count to run concurrently. He was further ordered to pay $921,680 in restitution to the victims.

At the hearing, the court heard additional information including excerpts from victim impact statements two of the victims had prepared. “Many days I thought might be my last, being beat as if not human,” said one woman. “I ask that you ensure that no other human has to be subject to the threat of Mr. Mearis. He has created distress and trauma to one too many women and I how we are the last victims of his destructive mind.” Another victim called Mearis the “Devil. I was fearing for my life not knowing how to escape the humiliation that was going on. I have been mentally and physically abused,” she said.

“David Mearis was a career pimp who abused, controlled, and exploited his victims. He stooped to a new kind of low by taking advantage of one of the girls who had a learning disability and the mental capacity of a child,” said FBI Special Agent in Charge Perrye K. Turner. “Mearis wasn’t the caretaker he wanted the court or his prey to believe. He was a dangerous predator who saw his victims not as girls or women, but a money-making commodity.”

At trial, the jury heard evidence that spanned from approximately 2007 – 2016. Four victims testified about how they each met Mearis while still teenagers and how he won them over with gifts and kindness before using threats, sexual abuse and physical force to compel them into prostitution.

The jury heard Mearis knew what he was doing and that he lived off the backs of these young women and girls. The government described how Mearis exerted constant control over the female victims. At today’s hearing, the court heard Mearis trafficked one victim for eight years, during which she “endured his reign of terror.”

One girl began a relationship with Mearis, then 32, when she was 17 after

she had run away from her Oakland, California, home. Another victim was only 15 when she met Mearis, then 34. Both of these girls considered Mearis their boyfriend in the earlier stages of their relationships but were eventually forced to engage in commercial sex in north Houston. One testified that they had to engage in these acts daily and at all times of the day.

Another victim, 14, encountered Mearis, then 41, and eventually ran away to live with him after they met on MocoSpace. She testified he had sexually assaulted her twice while she was with him in 2016.

Testimony revealed Mearis had put at least two of the girls on a peanut butter diet in order to fatten them up for the purpose of working as his prostitute. Evidence also showed text messages between Mearis and several victims demonstrating his constant control over their activities, including during the sex dates themselves. He controlled where they went, what they wore, what they ate and with whom they engaged in commercial sex. The jury saw commercial sex advertisements Mearis created for two of the victims and heard evidence about numerous times Mearis had accessed Backpage, a site formerly used for the purpose of advertising people for sexual activity. He also had bonded one of the victims out of jail at least twice after she was arrested for engaging commercial sex.

Some victims testified Mearis perpetrated acts of violence upon them, from slapping them across the face to being bound and gagged. They reported multiple instances in which they feared physical retaliation if they did not comply with demands, did not do as instructed or perform sexual acts as required. One victim described violence she experienced at the hands of Mearis following her release from jail.

At one point, when the girls were not making enough money, Mearis made one of them participate in a bank robbery. When it did not go exactly as he had planned, he berated her, calling her stupid, among other things.

That victim also described how she had virtually no relationships with anyone outside Mearis’ circle. He had taken her ID, would not let her drive or even use the phone. She was brought to tears multiple times on the stand. In one instance, she described that when her grandfather passed away, Mearis would not let her go unless he went with her. In trying to find the right word to describe the experience, she testified she felt “kidnapped” at the time and called him in court a “threat to young women.” “I felt like I had met the devil,” she said.

When she had eventually made it back to family in California after seeking help from Houston authorities, Mearis contacted her and threatened to call the police about her actions and the bank robbery if she did not return.

Another victim described how Mearis had hog-tied her and that he made her find other women for him. The jury heard Mearis had put a sock in her mouth, a gun to her head and threatened to kill her.

Evidence and testimony further established Mearis caused Supplemental Security Income benefits, intended for one of the victims, be directed to him. That victim had been diagnosed with mental retardation at an early age. Mearis himself described her as having the “mental capacity of a child” and could not do the simplest of tasks without constant supervision and instruction.

The defense implied the victims only implicated Mearis to avoid prosecution for their actions. The defense attempted to portray Mearis as simply a loving boyfriend who provided protection while the girls voluntarily engaged in commercial sex. However, testimony revealed the victims had to turn over the monies they earned for sexual acts directly to Mearis.

The jury did not believe the defense claims and found him guilty as charged.

He has been and will remain in custody pending transfer to a U.S. Bureau of Prisons facility to be determined in the near future.

The Houston Police Department, Texas Attorney General’s Office and FBI conducted the investigation with the assistance of the Harris County District Attorney’s Office as part of the Human Trafficking Rescue Alliance (HTRA).

Established in 2004, the United States Attorney’s office in Houston formed the HTRA to combine resources with federal, state and local enforcement agencies and prosecutors, as well as non-governmental service organizations to target human traffickers while providing necessary services to those that the traffickers victimized. Since its inception, HTRA has been recognized as a national model in identifying and assisting victims of human trafficking and prosecuting those engaged in trafficking offenses.

Assistant U.S. Attorneys Sherri Zack and Sebastian Edwards prosecuted the case.

MOBILE, ALABAMA – United States Attorney Richard W. Moore of the Southern District of Alabama announced that United States District Judge Jeffrey Beaverstock sentenced defendant Jerald Sells, 62, to 40 years imprisonment after a federal jury found him guilty at trial in September 2020 on charges in a child exploitation case. As part of his sentence, the judge ordered that the defendant receive mental health and sex offender treatment as directed by the U.S. Probation Office, register as a sex offender under the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act, pay special assessments totaling $10,200, and have no contact with minors. The judge further ordered that Sells be supervised by federal probation officers for 25 years after finishing his prison term.

On June 24, 2020, a federal grand jury for the Southern District of Alabama indicted Sells on one count of transporting minors across state lines with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity and one count of aggravated sexual abuse for crossing of a state line with intent to engage in a sexual act with a child under the age of twelve.

The jury heard two days of evidence during the trial, which began on September 28, 2020. According to the evidence introduced at trial, a child victim was abused for years by the defendant. The victim testified at trial that Sells had sexually abused her many times over the course of several years, including during one of his trucking trips from Alabama to Ohio, and back again. The defendant was employed as a long-haul trucker.

In April 2019, the victim disclosed the abuse to a school counselor. The counselor immediately contacted police. The Mobile County Sheriff’s Office investigated the offense. During an interview with law enforcement, the defendant confessed to the abuse.

The jury also heard from a second child victim, who was abused by the defendant in Sells’s home in Mobile.

The victim wrote to the Court before today’s sentencing hearing. She described how the defendant’s abuse had irreparably altered her life.

The Mobile County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI investigated the case. Assistant United States Attorney Kacey Chappelear prosecuted the case.

This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse. For more information about Project Safe Childhood, please visit www.justice.gov/psc.

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS — A suburban Chicago man has pleaded guilty in federal court to laundering cash proceeds from a telemarketing scheme that defrauded elderly victims.

HIRENKUMAR P. CHAUDHARI, 27, of Des Plaines, Ill., pleaded guilty on Jan. 6, 2021, to one count of money laundering. The conviction is punishable by up to 20 years in federal prison. U.S. District Judge Sara L. Ellis set sentencing for April 1, 2021.

The guilty plea was announced by John R. Lausch, Jr., United States Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois; J. Russell George, Inspector General of the Treasury Department Inspector General for Tax Administration; William Hedrick, Inspector-in-Charge of the U.S. Postal Inspection Service in Chicago; Gail S. Ennis, Inspector General of the Social Security Administration; and James M. Gibbons, Special Agent-in-Charge of the Chicago office of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations. The government is represented by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Kartik K. Raman and Rick D. Young.

Chaudhari admitted in a plea agreement that he used a phony Indian passport, false name, and false address to open multiple bank accounts in the United States to receive money from victims of the telemarketing scheme. The scheme involved phone calls from people falsely claiming to be associated with, among other agencies, the Social Security Administration and U.S. Department of Justice, stating that a victim’s identity had been stolen and that it was necessary to transfer money to various bank accounts, including the accounts opened by Chaudhari. One of the victims was an elderly woman from Massachusetts who transferred a total of more than $900,000 from her bank and retirement accounts to accounts controlled by Chaudhari or others.

On April 19, 2018 – one day after Chaudhari opened an account and received a $7,000 transfer from the Massachusetts victim – Chaudhari entered a bank branch in Chicago and withdrew $6,500, the plea agreement states. Chaudhari admitted in the plea agreement that he engaged in this financial transaction knowing that the money represented proceeds of unlawful activity.

If you believe you or someone you know is a victim of elder fraud, complaints may be filed with the Federal Trade Commission online at www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov, or by calling 877-FTC-HELP. More information about the Department of Justice’s efforts to help seniors is available at its Elder Justice Initiative webpage.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA – Twitter, the tech giant that led the charge in permanently banning, or as some are saying, electronically executing President Donald J. Trump won support from its liberal allies in Washington, D.C., but as trading opened on Monday, investors let the company know how they felt.

“Shares of the Palo Alto, Calif.-based company fell more than 10% at the opening bell, erasing more than $2.5 billion from Twitter’s $41 billion market capitalization. Facebook Inc. and Alphabet Inc. were also lower after Trump’s accounts were removed from their platforms,” Business Insider reported.

The company has lost $5 billion today, according to Business Insider.  At one point the tech stock was trading down 10%. Twitter isn’t the only company feeling the pocket pinch today as investors unload.  Facebook is down 3.57% and Google is down 2.32%.

Amazon, which pulled the plug on the “Free Speech” platform Parler also saw a 2% drop in their shares after deactivating the service at midnight.

Twitter banned Trump after his final tweet on the platform, “The 75,000,000 great American Patriots who voted for me, AMERICA FIRST, and MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, will have a GIANT VOICE long into the future. They will not be disrespected or treated unfairly in any way, shape or form!!!”

After Trump’s ban from Twitter, many of his 88 million followers also pulled the plug on the platform and many conservative personalities pulled their brand from the platform.

TRENTON, NJ by Theresa Inacker, Black Wire Media – A mainstream media source has claimed Trenton and New Jersey State Police are preparing “for a potential armed protest” for this Sunday, January 17th, which came as a complete shock to those volunteering in New Jersey’s active Second Amendment community. The article by News12 New Jersey, cited a flyer published by an unknown source, calling for armed marches at state capitols around the country.

Of course, no one in New Jersey’s 2A community had even heard of this protest. But you can guarantee, if things go wrong, you (WE) will be blamed for it.
Actually, whoever wrote the flyer demonstrates a complete blind spot, or lack of understanding about how things work here in New Jersey. You all know about New Jersey’s impossible justifiable need standard, required to be to proven before one can be issued a carry permit. What do they think we are doing–Filing a multitude of lawsuits to gain carry just for the heck of it? We are filing litigation non-stop to have the state of the law changed and civil rights restored.

That’s how WE roll.

Mark Cheeseman, a Plaintiff who had the gumption to bring a carry case (#19-27; CNJFO filed an amicus brief and raised funds for it AND ANJRPC’s Rogers case!) all the way to the Supreme Court of the United States stated “N.J.s most active pro-Second Amendment page on social media shows that nothing has been discussed or planned. And past rallies were done with permits and NO FIREARMS. And were very peaceful.”

Dan Grdovic, acting President of the Coalition of New Jersey Firearm Owners said: “I have attended several rallies in Trenton supporting the Second Amendment in the past. There were no firearms. Not only have they been 100% peaceful, the city has also been cleaner upon completion of these rallies than before they began. This yellow journalism disparaging otherwise good people in the name of selling ink for tabloid ratings is getting very old.”

Is something nefarious afoot? New Jersey’s active Second Amendment groups and their members are bastions of law-abiding people, fighting for the legal right to carry, and engaging in educational activities. Several rallies have been held by the Second Amendment community in Trenton with great success. Our diverse community has gathered and assembled peaceably, this shows how strong we are and how full of restraint people are despite great infringements and frustration.

You will be arrested if you carry without a permit in New Jersey. Everyone knows this—therefore, do not fall into any trap. Is this the proverbial pallet of bricks dropped in front of plate glass windows? Tempting gatherers to touch?

Do not unlawfully carry. Do not fall into a trap. Do not give any excuse for more gun control—that’s coming anyway. Let’s not make it easier for them. Unintended consequences of stupid actions will be borne by our entire community. Stay strong!

EDITOR’s NOTE:

Theresa Inacker is the CNJFO Communications Director. A true #2AHeavyLifter in the Second Amendment community, she “takes the pulse” of New Jersey’s 2A leadership daily, utilizing all forms of social media. As such, she brought this to our attention, fearful of many factors, including but not limited to, mass arrest of armed protesters, and the potential for the mere “threat of violence”, manufactured although it may be, to be used as a weapon by the current administration to destroy even more individual rights “on behalf of the common good” through Executive Order or other illegal means.

Was News12 fed a line of horse dung so they’d “regurgitate a story” where none existed? Who fed them? Was it the same people that placed a pile of rocks on the finely-manicured lawn of the Trenton War Memorial last April for the “Open-the-State” anti-Executive Order protest & rally? So maybe protesters would be incited to heave them at an overabundant State Police detail surrounding the building from which our Governor was giving his daily Covid Press Conference? What professional landscaper wants to run-over rocks? NO ONE touched the rocks then, WE SAW TO IT, and we’re sure as hell not touchin’ them NOW!

Limbaugh eventually killed himself after an hours-long stand off with police.  We’ll never know why he did it, other than he told officers the police department was bombarding him with ultrasonic waves.

The Davis Police Department created a touching video where officers shared their memories of Corona and police officers nationwide always celebrated with her.

After her death, an picture of her standing on a road in a blue dress waving the “Thin Blue Line” flag in high heels became the picture that symbolized her life.

“I would like this photograph to serve as my gratitude for all those law enforcement men and women who have served, who are currently serving, and those who have died in the line of duty protecting our liberties in this great country,”she posted on her Facebook page in 2016, but that picture flooded the internet after her death.

Female Police Officers took pictures of themselves in blue dresses, mimicking the pose Corona took in the photo.

Over in New Jersey, Ocean Township Police Sgt. Dennis Jarin and Toms River Police Officer Fran Jarin put together a montage of other officers along with Corona’s original photo and sent it to the Davis Police Department.

Thank you, Sgt Jarin of Ocean Township Police Department in New Jersey, and everyone involved across the country for this incredible gift. It was emotional seeing how all these women of law enforcement across the nation were touched by Natalie’s story,” said Davis Chief of Police Darren Pytel.

DEFUNIAK SPRINGS, FL At least one person is in critical condition after dozens of shots were fired on Highway 90 near Defuniak Springs.  Walton County Sheriff Michael Adkinson is now asking for the public’s help in solving the crime.

“One person is severely injured after a shooting where more than a dozen shots were fired late Sunday evening near Fairfield Drive and U.S. Highway 90,” Adkinson said. “Witnesses to the incident were unable to determine the make and model of the shooter’s vehicle which fled the scene traveling east on Highway 90.”

At 8:00 pm last night, the Walton County 9-1-1 center received a call about multiple shots fired on Highway 90, several miles west of Defuniak Springs.

Arriving deputies found a victim who was gravely injured.  Adkinson said the victim is in critical condition in a level one trauma center.

“There were multiple rounds fired, at least 14 rounds struck the vehicle,” he added, saying two individuals may have been involved in the shooting.

According to the victim, she was approached from behind by another vehicle that began firing on her vehicle and continued firing numerous rounds striking the victim.  After she stopped, the shooters returned to the victims car and began shooting more.

“This did not happen in an area without people,” Adkinson said. Now he wants people with information to come forward to assist in the investigation.  “If you were traveling down US 90 last night and saw something out of the ordinary, reach out and call us.”

“We do not believe this is random,” he added. “We believe this is targeted.”

Walton County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Technicians processed the scene into the early morning hours Monday collecting shell casings and bullet fragments stretching west down Highway 90 from Owens Road to west of Fairfield (approximately 2/10 of a mile).

If you have information or if your home has video surveillance in the vicinity, you can call (850) 892-8111.

If you live in the blue states of New York, California, New Jersey or Illiniois and think your friends are leaving you, don’t take it personally.  It’s not you.  According to North American Moving Services, in 2020, the mass exodus of people from America’s blue states is on the rise and residents of those states are fleeing.

The northeastern United States leads the nation in mass exodus.  Democrat Governors such as Andrew Cuomo in New York, Phil Murphy in New Jersey andTom Wolf in Pennsylvania instituted policies in those states that negatively impacted residents, causing a spike of fleeing residents in 2019, but in 2020, the policies by those governors during the COVID-19 pandemic accelerated the exodus.

“Northeastern states make up four out of the seven states with the most outbound moves, and none of them make the top eight for inbound moves. New York led the way, followed by New Jersey and Maryland. But California edged out Maryland for fourth place on the outbound list,” the NAMS report concluded. “Pennsylvania and Michigan also made the list, and both states have made the top 10 fairly consistently for the past few years. Maryland has made the list for outbound moves since 2015, and it has ranked between second and fifth places. In 2020, it took fifth place.”

One of the main reasons people are fleeing the northeast is because of jobs.  They were hard to find before COVID-19 and now, with many businesses shut down, restricted and operating at 25% capacity, jobs are even harder to find.

Here are 5 key observations in the report.

  •  People are fleeing California for Texas and Idaho
  • Illinois, New York, and New Jersey are the three states with the most outbound moves.
  • The top five inbound states in 2020 are Idaho, Arizona, Tennessee, South Carolina, and
  • North Carolina, with Tennessee overtaking South Carolina from the 2019 results.
  • Florida, Texas, and Colorado round out the top eight states for inbound moves.
  • Despite pandemic, people continued to move at rates comparable to 2019

“States in the south consistently rank well in the list of inbound moves. On average, states throughout the southeast, south and southwest continue to see their populations grow as more individuals relocate there than leave the region. Arizona and South Carolina have been in the top five inbound states since 2015,” according to the report. “Meanwhile, North Carolina and Tennessee have always been on the list but reached the top five in 2016. While Tennessee usually sat in fifth place or so, it is now in third place for inbound moves. Florida and Texas have also been in the top 12 since the first report in 2015.”

Each year, both states rose through the ranks. Now, Florida is in sixth place, and Texas is one point behind in seventh place. While Georgia was in the top eight for the first few years, it has fallen out of the top eight since 2018. Still, the south continues to dominate the inbound list. Even as Americans move to different states, southern sunbelt states will probably stay on the list for many years.

Why are people in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania heading south?

  • States in the south have experienced job growth due to companies relocating to or
opening branches in the area. While the pandemic has changed things, there are still
plenty of jobs in the south.
  •  Southern states like Texas, Florida, and Tennessee don’t have a state income tax.
Arizona and the Carolinas have a state income tax, but rates are relatively low, not
    surpassing seven percent. https://www.businessinsider.com/personal-finance/stateswith-no-income-tax-map
  •  Of course, the warmer weather is a draw for many people. Some states may have hot
summers, but the mild winter is worth it for some.
  • For those seeking to avoid congested areas, the south offers a lot of open space and
opportunity to live more rurally, but with access to common conveniences. This may
    have been particularly imp

Of all Western states, only California has consistently ranked in the top 10 for outbound moves since 2015. The percentage has fluctuated over time, but enough people continue to leave to make it stand out. California’s high cost of living could be the reason for so many outbound moves, along with a lack of affordable housing in some cities (San Francisco, for example, has an approximate 30+% of outbound versus inbound movers).

TOMS RIVER, NJ – New Jersey Congressman Andy Kim, the former socialist revolutionary who once called for residents in America to “rise stronger” to revolt and overthrow the administration of President Donald J. Trump says the President needs to be removed from office, immediately.

“Our democracy is fragile, and yesterday it was brought to the brink. We cannot allow that to happen again. The only way to ensure the protection of our democracy is to remove President Trump from office immediately,” Kim said of the January 6th uprising at the U.S Capitol building.

Kim once ran the left-wing revolutionary group “Rise Stronger“, which called for the removal of the U.S. government under President Donald J. Trump.  When his 2018 campaign opponent Tom MacArthur called him out on it, Kim shut down the group’s website.  He also shut down the group’s Facebook and Twitter pages. Kim worked feverishly to remove all traces of Rise Stronger after learning his opponent was going to use it to discredit him in his ongoing political campaign.

That group promoted radical left-wing leaders and ideology. The group called for a “United States of Resistance” and called for radicals to rise up against Donald Trump and the Republican Party.  Kim has since flushed the internet of all traces of his former radical socialist revolutionary group, including Google Drive accounts, web accounts, Twitter and Facebook accounts, but much of his propaganda is still available on the Way Back Machine, an internet archive.

Kim’s Rise Stronger organization came under fire for promoting a book by terrorist Bill Ayers who once bombed the Pentagon.  Kim blamed one of his organization’s volunteers for that.  The organization’s website featured a prominent section called “The Library of Resistance“, which is still active on Goodreads.com.

“Yes, people there posted different things and a volunteer posted a link to a book list,” Kim said in an Asbury Park Press interview, defending the organization he once ran.

Kim’s goal for the page was to unite left-wing radical groups across the nation in one place so they can work together to collaborate, share ideas, and promote radical protests and rallies across America.

The group was formed by members of President Barack Obama’s former appointees, Kim sad.

“In the days following the 2016 presidential election, [as a] former White House Director for Iraq at the National Security Council, gathered several hundred people to a meeting in Washington, D.C. to lay out a vision for a new wave of citizen engagement in this uncertain and tumultuous political landscape in America. That meeting launched RISE Stronger, which has since grown to become a citizen watchdog organization of nearly 30,000 members across the country who are ready to ensure elected officials and government are both responsible and accountable to the people,” Kim said.

The organization was created for former Obama era insiders to retake Washington, D.C., and America in the wake of their defeat against Trump. Kim explained how Rise Stronger began.

“In that first meeting, people said they felt paralyzed — unable to think about how to move beyond the uncertainty, disappointment, and fear. Participants struggled to think of actions that regular citizens could take beyond voting, calling their representative, and donating money to a cause,” Kim said. “Dissatisfied with these limited options, RISE Stronger emerged to reinvigorate what it means to be a citizen and to empower Americans across the country to find new ways to engage in the American democracy.”

In essence, Kim said Rise Stronger was a collection of former Obama era White House officials and their alliance to work together to retake the U.S. capital.

“The goal of RISE Stronger is simple: capture the political energy of Americans, sustain it, and focus it towards action that will ensure that the government and its leaders are accountable to its citizens, transparent in their actions and policies, and guided solely by the interests and values of the American people,” Kim said at the time. “Keeping grassroots activism at the heart of its work, RISE Stronger draws from a vast network of former White House and government officials and other policy experts to inform and augment the work of its members throughout the country. A network of local and state chapters, and an active online hub will serve as an incubator to new ideas and initiatives that propel forward the work of members and increase the engagement of Americans.”

Kim is coming off a decisive victory in his congressional district which consists of portions of Burlington and Ocean Counties.  He defeated his opponent David Richter after Ocean County GOP Chairman Frank Holman, who also criticized the President earlier this week withdrew support for Richter after learning Richter was being helped by former GOP Chairman George Gilmore.

MIAMI, FL – A battle between unbeaten teams meet tonight at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida to determine who is the best team
in College Football in this year’s NCAA College Football National Championship.

The Ohio State Buckeyes (7-0) will play the Alabama Crimson Tide (12-0)

Related: What channel is the 2021 NCAA College Football National Championship game on?  ESPN, check your local provider for the channel number.

“All season long the Crimson Tide of Alabama have dominated their opposition and compiled a 12-0 record. In their semi-finals Win over Notre Dame 31-14 despite a convincing Win it was the Tides lowest points scored all season as they are averaging close to 50 points per game,” said Joe Wiz, one of the nation’s top sports betting analysts. “Some will say this is Head Coach Nick Saban’s most potent offense at Tuscaloosa and why not?”

[adsanity id=”144292″ align=”aligncenter”/]

Led by quarterback Mac Jones who passed for 4,036 yards, 35 touchdown passes and just 4 picks this offense is explosive. Before the Notre Dame game, Bama scored 52, 52, and 55 points in their last three games. Having a powerful arsenal of RB Najee Harris who rushed for 1,387 yards and 27 TDs and Heisman Winner WR Devonta Smith who has105 receptions and 21 TDs has made it difficult for any team to defend this explosive offense.

“Ohio State comes in a Big upset Win over Clemson 49-28 to advance to this National spotlight, quarterback Justin Feilds had a career day vs one of the best defensive units in the country and he torched the Tigers for 6 touchdowns and RB Sermon rushed for 193 yards and 524 yards the last two games,” Joe Wiz said before gametime. “Head coach Ryan Day is 20-1 since taking over the heading coaching job in Columbus and the last time the Buckeyes lost by more than 7 points we have to go back to midway thru the 2018 season when they lost to Purdue.”

OSU has the talent to pull off the upset but will need a flawless effort from its QB Fields who is expected to be a top pick in the upcoming NFL draft.

What is the line for tonight’s NCAA College Football National Championship?

What are the odds for tonight’s national championship you ask?  Who should you bet on? The current line for tonight’s highly anticipated match-up has Alabama favored by 8.5 points and the Total is 75.

There is some speculation that OSU quarterback Fields is still nursing sore ribs and may not be 100%, we probably won’t know how much he will be hampered till he takes a hit from Bama defenders.

“No doubt this is the biggest obstacle of the season for Head coach Saban to get this Sixth National Championship as head coach at Alabama and seventh overall which would enable him to pass Bear Bryant for the most trophies,” Wiz added.

Overall this is his 9th appearance in the National Championship. Before you jump on the Bama bandwagon there are some compelling cases for the Buckeyes who are 38-2 in their last 40 games, Since 2009 OSU is 14-0 ATS when taking 3 or more points and the dog in the College Football Playoff Championship games is 5-1 ATS.

“Despite the high total of 75, we expect the scoreboard operator to be busy as both teams have quick-strike offenses and have the ability to Score at any time,” Wiz added.  “Certainly, the status of Fields and his sore ribs could become a factor but it’s hard to speculate on injuries but we know both can score and Bamas Defense is suspect, so the safer bet might to sit back and enjoy the game while these teams march up and down the field and score.”

RICHMOND, VA Around 6:00 p.m. Saturday evening, a Sussex I State Prison inmate seriously injured a sergeant at the Waverly, Virginia facility. The male sergeant, who has more than 20 years of service with the Department of Corrections, sustained six non-life-threatening stab wounds to the hand, arm, and side of the body. The officer was admitted, treated, and released from a local hospital last night.

When the sergeant called for assistance with six inmates, a K9 officer and her K9 responded. The K9 was stabbed and required emergency surgery. The K9 is expected to live.

Nine inmates have been identified as suspected of having been involved in the assault on the sergeant. A number of other inmates engaged in disruptive behavior, including refusing to return to their cells, lighting fires, and breaking sprinkler heads.

A strike team was deployed to the prison and the incident was contained, with inmates secured, shortly after 11:00 p.m.

An investigation is underway and the VADOC expects to seek criminal charges against those responsible for the assault.

MAPLE SHADE, NJ –  A Maple Shade man is heading to prison for 5 years after being convicted for shooting and killing his neighbor’s dog.

Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina announced that a 65-year-old Maple Shade man has been sentenced to five years in New Jersey state prison for shooting a neighbor’s dog with an air rifle in 2019, causing the animal to be euthanized.

The sentence, handed down yesterday by the Hon. Gerard H. Breland, J.S.C., was the result of a negotiated plea with William D. Stroemel, who pled guilty in April to Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose (Second Degree) and Animal Cruelty (Third Degree).

The investigation began in September 2019 after police were contacted by the owners of Toby, a 9-year-old Pomeranian-poodle mix. They told police that Toby had been discovered howling in pain by a neighbor the previous day. An examination by a veterinarian revealed that he had been shot in the head. Toby was euthanized a day after being shot.

The investigation, which was conducted by detectives from the Maple Shade Police Department, revealed that Stroemel shot Toby with an air rifle while the dog was passing his home in the street, and then gave the gun to an acquaintance and asked him to hold it for him.

Judge Breland sentenced the defendant in accordance with the negotiated agreement, even though Stroemel and his attorney argued that the prison term should be reconsidered.
“He admitted that he shot Toby, an innocent, defenseless pet,” Prosecutor Coffina said. “But rather than express true remorse, he attempted to evade the custodial sentence that was agreed upon.”

Assistant Prosecutor Melissa O’Mara stressed to the court that the defendant must be held accountable for his actions.

“Mr. Stroemel is here because he possessed a weapon he could not have, he used that weapon unlawfully in broad daylight and shot a dog in the middle of the street in Maple Shade, killing that dog, and then took that weapon and gave it to somebody else to hide,” she said.

Stroemel, a heavy equipment operator who is also known as Wild Willie, was initially charged with weapons offenses following the discovery of a .22 caliber pistol during the execution of a search warrant at his residence. Additional charges were added after a necropsy was performed and the pellet removed from Toby’s head was connected to an air rifle in Stroemel’s possession at the time of the shooting.

As part of the plea agreement, Stroemel must make restitution to Toby’s owners for the cost of the veterinary care and necropsy.
