WASHINGTON, D.C. – Days after the protest within the U.S. Capitol building where one police officer was murdered and an unarmed California woman involved in the riot inside the building was shot by Capitol police officers, another Capitol police officer has reportedly committed suicide.

Today, the department announced 51-year-old Howard Leibengood has died in an unrelated off-duty death.  It is not clear what involvement if any Leibengold had during Wednesday’s unrest.  Some media outlets are linking Leigbengood’s death to the uprising in the capital last week, but the U.S. Capitol Police Department denied those allegations, saying his death was an “off-duty death”.

“The United States Capitol Police is deeply saddened by the off-duty death on January 9, 2021, of Officer Howard Liebengood, age 51.  He was assigned to the Senate Division and has been with the Department since April 2005.   Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends, and colleagues,” the department said. “We ask that his family and other USCP officers’ and their families’ privacy be respected during this profoundly difficult time.”

On Thursday, United States Capitol Police Officer Brian D. Sicknick passed away due to injuries sustained while on-duty during the chaos as it unfolded in the Capitol building.

“Officer Sicknick was responding to the riots on Wednesday, January 6, 2021, at the U.S. Capitol and was injured while physically engaging with protesters,” the department said. ” He returned to his division office and collapsed.  He was taken to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.  The death of Officer Sicknick will be investigated by the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch, the USCP, and our federal partners. ”

Officer Sicknick joined the USCP in July 2008, and most recently served in the Department’s First Responder’s Unit.

TACOMA, WA – One person is reported dead after a crash the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office reported on Saturday.

At 07:33 am, on Saturday January 9th, 2021, the Graham Fire Department called in a single car rollover crash that occurred in front of their station at the 12800 block of 224th St E. Fire fighters and deputies discovered the lone occupant unrestrained in the back of the vehicle and was declared deceased.

The vehicle had been traveling west on 224th Street E and went off the roadway hitting a small ditch which caused it to spin and go across the front of the fire station driveway. The vehicle landed on its side facing south on the roadway.

“Our traffic deputies responded to investigate and document the scene. Based on the initial investigation the cause is thought to be speed too fast for the icy conditions on the roadway; where the speed limit was 45 mph. It is believed the driver lost control of her vehicle and went into the ditch which caused it to roll,” the department said.

The 29 year old female was the registered owner and only lived a few blocks from the fire station. The traffic unit will continue their collision investigation in coordination with the medical examiner’s office.

Parler, the up and coming social media app that has been the number one downloaded app on the Apple iTunes store for weeks has been removed from both the Apple and Google mobile app stores.  Now, Amazon, which hosts the server platforms for Parler’s web servers has notified the company of its pending eviction of Sunday night.

Parler CEO John Matze says the move is nothing more than his competition using their power and influence to put his company out of business.

“We are the closest thing to competition Facebook or Twitter has seen in many years. I believe Amazon, Google, Apple worked together to try and ensure they don’t have competition,” Matze said. “They will NOT win! We are the world’ss last hope for free speech and free information. What they are doing is unprecedented, unfounded and absolutely disgusting. Shameful.”

In a letter to Parler, Amazon wrote, “We remain troubled by the repeated violations of our terms of service. Over the past several weeks, we’ve reported 98 examples to Parler of posts that clearly encourage and incite violence. Here are a few examples below from the ones we’ve sent previously.”

Amazon said that there has been a steady increase in violent content on the Parler app which violates the company’s Terms of Service. They have given Parler 24 hours to vacate.

“Sunday (tomorrow) at midnight Amazon will be shutting off all of our servers in an attempt to completely remove free speech off the internet. There is the possibility Parler will be unavailable on the internet for up to a week as we rebuild from scratch. We prepared for events like this by never relying on amazons proprietary infrastructure and building bare metal products,” Matze said.

“Recently, we’ve seen a steady increase in this violent content on your website, all of which violates our terms. It’s clear that Parler does not have an effective process to comply with the AWS terms of service. It also seems that Parler is still trying to determine its position on content moderation. You remove some violent content when contacted by us or others, but not always with urgency,” Amazon added. ” Your CEO recently stated publicly that he doesn’t “feel responsible for any of this, and neither should the platform.” This morning, you shared that you have a plan to more proactively moderate violent content, but plan to do so manually with volunteers.”

Amazon told Matze, given the unfortunate events that transpired this past week in Washington, D.C., there is serious risk that this type of content will further incite violence.

“AWS provides technology and services to customers across the political spectrum, and we continue to respect Parler’s right to determine for itself what content it will allow on its site. However, we cannot provide services to a customer that is unable to effectively identify and remove content that encourages or incites violence against others,” Amazon said. “Because Parler cannot comply with our terms of service and poses a very real risk to public safety, we plan to suspend Parler’s account effective Sunday, January 10th, at 11:59PM PST. We will ensure that all of your data is preserved for you to migrate to your own servers, and will work with you as best as we can to help your migration.”

Matze believes there’s more to the ordeal than a simple Terms of Service violation.

“This is a battle against all of us. Liberals, conservatives, atheists, Christians, black, white, etc. They want to keep their monopoly over speech. They want us fighting. They don’t want us working together. They don’t want us working with each other, they want us hating one another,” Matze said. “Parley – brings two people with conflicting ideas together. Our mission is free speech, democracy and us the people having the power. The elite don’t want us to be free, they want hate division and power”

For now, Parler is trying to move to a new hosting provider, but it could take some time to get up and running again.

“We will try our best to move to a new provider right now as we have many competing for our business, however Amazon, Google and Apple purposefully did this as a coordinated effort knowing our options would be limited and knowing this would inflict the most damage right as President Trump was banned from the tech companies,” Matze added. “This was a coordinated attack by the tech giants to kill competition in the market place. We were too successful too fast. You can expect the war on competition and free speech to continue, but don’t count us out.”

TOMS RIVER, NJ – Another highway clash broke out this week in Ocean County on Route 37, also known as Little League World Champions Boulevard.  Now, after a fight last summer a few miles away and one this past winter, it can also be called “World Star Champions Boulevard”.   More hits were recorded in this fight than we saw all season at Citi Field…we won’t go there.

It’s not certain what prompted the scuffle between the two gentlemen on the motorcycles, wearing a matching ensemble that included black helmets, OD jacket, blue jeans and black shoes, but what is obvious is that biker number two really wanted no part of the engagement and just wanted to get himself over the bridge, or wherever they were heading before UFC 37 broke out.  Social distancing guidelines were apparently not much of a concern.  This fight was first reported by OCSN.

NEW YORK, NY – Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez today announced that a 21-year-old man has been indicted for reckless manslaughter and other charges in connection with the death of a 50-year-old Brooklyn father. The driver was allegedly speeding in a sports car with worn out tires and a forged inspection sticker when he lost control of his vehicle and slammed into Jose Barrera in front of the victim’s young daughter.

District Attorney Gonzalez said, “This horrific crash was no accident – it was a preventable crime that stemmed from reckless behavior before and during the collision. The defendant chose to drive a car he knew was not safe, allegedly sped on wet road conditions and took the life of a hard-working father. This is the first indictment obtained by my new Street Safety Bureau, which was created this summer to better address vehicular violence on our roadways. It will continue to thoroughly investigate and prosecute dangerous drivers when their unlawful actions cause traffic fatalities or injuries. I am determined to get justice for victims and to send a message that this conduct will not be tolerated in Brooklyn.”

The District Attorney identified the defendant as Kareem Denton, 21. He was arraigned on December 31, 2020 before Brooklyn Supreme Court Justice Raymond Rodriguez on a 16-count indictment in which is charged with second-degree manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide, second- and third-degree assault, first-, second- and third-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument and related charges. The defendant was ordered released without bail and to return to court on January 28, 2021. His driver license was suspended, and he faces a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison if convicted of the top count with which he is charged.

The District Attorney said that, according to the investigation, on July 11, 2020, on 39th Street in Borough Park, the defendant, allegedly driving over 60 mph in a 25 mph zone on a wet road, lost control of his Nissan 370Z and slammed into Jose Barrera, 50, killing him.

The victim was returning from grocery shopping and had just walked his 6-year-old daughter from his minivan to the curb seconds before the collision. His wife, who was still in the passenger seat, suffered minor injuries.

It is alleged that the defendant had dangerously worn out tires that likely contributed to the crash and that he allegedly knew about them. A mechanic had warned him about the bald tires, according to the investigation. Furthermore, the vehicle could not pass a New York State inspection and a forged inspection sticker was affixed to its windshield.

The District Attorney’s Street Safety Bureau was created last summer to assist in police investigations of traffic violence cases, with emphasis on protecting bicyclists and pedestrians, responding to scenes of serious collisions in real time and coordinating support services for victims and their families, among other duties.

The case is being prosecuted by Senior Assistant District Attorney Jacob Uriel, of the District Attorney’s Street Safety Bureau, under the supervision of Assistant District Attorney Craig Esswein, Bureau Chief.

BROOKLYN, NY – Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez, together with New York City Police Commissioner Dermot Shea, today announced that 15 alleged members of the 900 street gang are variously charged in a 77-count indictment with murder, conspiracy to commit murder and to possess weapons, attempted murder and related charges. Four additional alleged members of the 900 gang are variously charged in a separate 11-count indictment with conspiracy to commit murder and to possess weapons.

District Attorney Gonzalez said, “These indictments reflect our commitment to stem the surge in gun violence that we have experienced since last spring. Many of these defendants are accused of recklessly opening fire in broad daylight, endangering not only their rivals but innocent passersby, including children. I commend the NYPD and my prosecutors for all of the hard work that went into building these cases and am determined to continue working on similar investigations to take more shooters off our streets.”

NYPD Chief of Detectives Rodney Harrison said, “There is no place in our city for the kind of violence alleged in this case, which tears at the fabric of life for all. I commend our NYPD investigators, and the prosecutors in the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office, for working relentlessly to ensure these alleged gang members would be brought to justice.”

The District Attorney said that eight of the defendants named in the 77-count indictment were arraigned last week in Brooklyn Supreme Court. The rest of the defendants will be arraigned on a later date. The defendants are variously charged with second-degree murder, second-degree attempted murder, first-, second- and fourth-degree conspiracy first- and second-degree assault, first-degree attempted assault, first-degree reckless endangerment and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. The defendants face up to 25 years in prison on the top conspiracy charge and the five defendants charged with murder face up to 25 years to life in prison. (See defendant addendum).

Three of the defendants in the 11-count indictment were arraigned in Brooklyn Supreme Court. They are variously charged with second- and fourth-degree conspiracy, second-degree attempted murder, first-degree attempted assault, and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. They face up to 25 years in prison if convicted of the top conspiracy charge.

The District Attorney said that, according to the 77-count indictment, the defendants are allegedly members of a violent street gang known as 900 Gang. 900 is an umbrella organization comprised of affiliated violent street gangs operating in Brooklyn. Stack Money Goons (SMG) and Jayson Fam (JSF) are two such gangs that affiliate themselves under the umbrella of 900. SMG and JSF control territory within the confines of the 79th precinct bordering the 90th Precinct.

It is alleged that between April 19, 2019 and November 20, 2020, 900 members engaged in violence to establish geographic dominance. SMG and JSF controlled certain geographic areas in Brooklyn, which included the Sumner Houses, Tompkins Houses and 303 Vernon Avenue developments of the New York City Housing Authority, located within the Bedford-Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn within the confines of the 79th and 81st Precincts. To achieve those goals, some 900 members participated in violent criminal acts, including murder and shootings. It is alleged that SMG and JSF’s primary rivals are members of the Hoolies gang, who operated out of a building complex located across the street from SMG and JSF territory. The Hoolies territory included 721 Willoughby Avenue and 300 Vernon Avenue, as well as the Roosevelt Houses NYCHA development.

It is alleged that 900 members committed two murders, as well as numerous shootings, during the course of the investigation:

On June 29, 2020, at approximately 1:13 p.m., Tysean Devonish allegedly posed as a young woman on Instagram and responded to a post allegedly made by Tracey Washington, an alleged Hoolie member, seeking individuals to open credit card accounts in connection with a credit card fraud scheme that he allegedly operated. They agreed to meet at 1620 Dean Street in Weeksville Gardens. At approximately 5:45 p.m., defendants Kaireil Haynie, Alexander Williams and Tysean Devonshire drove to the area and Washington took a livery car to the location. Haynie and Williams allegedly got out of the car they were in and walked toward the livery car. Haynie allegedly fired multiple times into the livery cab, striking Washington, who exited the cab and fled down Dean Street, where he collapsed. He was taken to Kings County Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

On September 28, 2020, at approximately 3:39 p.m., Alexander Williams requested a cab from Rainbow Car Service, picked up Wydeem Rudd, and traveled to Clifton and Franklin Avenues, where they exited the vehicle. The defendants, allegedly wearing hoods and masks, walked through the Lafayette Gardens housing project, entered the rear of 456 DeKalb Avenue, and allegedly ambushed and shot Tylee Felder, who was standing in front of the building. Rudd and Williams allegedly shot Felder six times, including once in the head, killing him. After shooting Felder, Rudd allegedly fired into a crowd outside the building. Two bystanders were shot and wounded.

On October 2, 2019, at approximately 1:25 p.m., Naccion McCray and Vincent Lilly allegedly walked from 303 Vernon Avenue (SMG territory) to a bodega located at 335 Vernon Avenue (Hoolie territory). As the SMG members were entering, they noticed an alleged Hoolie member was exiting. McCray allegedly took a few steps back, pulled out a pistol and fired multiple shots, striking the victim in the leg. One .40 caliber shell casing was recovered.

On October 3, 2019, at approximately 2:55 p.m., James Alston, Shawn Singletary and Jalen Elliot were walking on Graham Avenue towards Cook Street. Alston allegedly saw three rivals walking across the street in the opposite direction, drew a pistol and fired twice. There were dozens of bystanders in the area at the time, including a family with small children. One of the shots went through a store window, narrowly missing the head of an employee. Fortunately, no one was struck or injured. A .40 caliber shell casing was recovered that was a match to the casing recovered at the alleged McCray shooting scene a day earlier.

On October 31, 2020, at approximately 10:30 p.m., Jalen Elliot and two other individuals left 303 Vernon Avenue and walked to Marcus Garvey Boulevard. Harper was allegedly trailed by a black sedan as he rode the bike. He allegedly fired multiple shots into the playground, then fled on the bike to where the sedan was parked nearby and got into the car. A 15-year-old victim was shot in the thumb and treated at a hospital.

During the course of the conspiracy, it is alleged, incarcerated 900 members communicated with non-incarcerated members in jail phone calls to keep up to date on the status of members or to discuss violent acts. The defendants also allegedly used social media platforms including Facebook and Instagram to demonstrate their gang membership and to broadcast gang activity. They allegedly also posted music videos to YouTube containing song lyrics referencing the status of rivalries and referring to acts of violence committed by gang members.

Additionally, gang members allegedly signified their status as shooters by adopting the names of famous basketball players on social media or in song lyrics. These basketball players included “Shaq,” “Kobe,” “Curry,” “Westbrook,” and “Harden.”

Finally, it is alleged, in the 11-count indictment that the defendants are members of 1800/Humble gang, which is also under the umbrella of 900 gang, and that they feud with rival gangs such as OTB (Only the Borough) to maintain geographic dominance in Bedford-Stuyvesant and Crown Heights. It is alleged that on December 25, 2019 Andre Starkey and Kareem Waters and others walked to the Kingsborough Houses in Crown Heights where they happened to cross paths with a rival. Waters and Starkey each allegedly pulled out a gun and fired at the person, who fled the area. No one was injured.

OCALA, FL – It started off like every other morning at Liberty Middle School in Ocala, Florida.   That is until mom ran over the traffic cone dropping her kids off, raising the suspicion of the nearby school resource officer, Shelby Roberts.   Officer Roberts politely told the driver she ran over her traffic cone and became instantly aware that the driver was drunk.

“I’m just trying to drop off my kids,” she told the officer.

“How much have you had to drink today?” Roberts said.  The driver replied, nothing, I’m just sad.  Roberts even gave the drive the courtesy of waiting until all the parents and students to leave to avoid the embarrassement of being arrested at school.

That’s when the woman began arguing with Officer Roberts, exerting her rights as duly appointed Karen.

On Wednesday, January 6, 2021, Erin Rodriguez  was arrested for Driving Under the Influence with a Minor in the Vehicle at Liberty Middle School.

School Resource Officer (SRO) Shelby Roberts was notified of a woman who was having issues driving in the parent drop off line. Several witnesses advised they observed Rodriguez struggling to stay in the car line, running over several parking lot cones, and appeared to be falling asleep behind the wheel while in the drop off line at the school.

SRO Roberts approached Rodriguez in an attempt to find out what was going on. When asked for her driver’s license, she was too intoxicated to provided her driver’s license and instead provided a random card to SRO Roberts. Rodriguez advised she was just upset and had not been drinking, but the smell of alcohol on her breath and failure to speak without slurring told another story.

Rodriguez denied all of the driving mistakes she made, however the parking cone she said she “did not” hit was lodged under her vehicle. Thankfully it was just a cone and not a child. Rodriguez became verbally aggressive when SRO Roberts called for assistance with her DUI investigation and claimed lies were being told about her. After further aggression and refusal to remain calm,

SRO Roberts detained Rodriguez in handcuffs until Deputy Hunter Osborne arrived.

“Rodriguez could have hurt or killed any number of students and/or staff when she made the decision to drive drunk to the school. She was placed under arrest and transported to the Marion County Jail,” the Sheriff’s department said in a statement.

LAKE COUNTY, FL –  Two men wanted for robbing graves in Florida have been arrested and police say they stole human remains to build a religious shrine. The men were caught after police found discarded cigars and ran DNA tests on them.  Police found a total of six human skulls, a hand, and arm bone and multiple other large humans bones.  The cemetery was a predominantly African American cemetery, said Sheriff Grady Judd.  Three of the four graves that were robbed were those of United States veterans Judd said.

Judd said the two men are members of the Palo Mayombe religion, developed in Cuba among former enslaved Central African people, according to Wikipedia.  In the home Sheriff,Judd said deputies found various animal skulls along with the human skulls.

You can see Sheriff Judd’s press conference at the bottom of this story.

Polk County Sheriff’s deputies arrested two suspects wanted by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office for desecrating graves and stealing human remains in Mount Dora, after a positive DNA hit from evidence left behind during the crimes positively identified the first suspect, 43-year-old Brian Montalvo Tolentino, who lives in Davenport.

When PCSO deputies arrested Tolentino in Polk County, he positively identified his accomplice, 39-year-old Juan Burgos-Lopez, who lives in Lake Wales.   According to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, the thefts occurred on December 6, 2020, from four graves at the Edgewood Cemetery.

According to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, the thefts occurred on December 6, 2020, from four graves at the Edgewood Cemetery.

Detectives with the Lake County Sheriff’s Office have been investigating the thefts from gravesites at the Edgewood Cemetery since the incident occurred on December 6. At the time of the initial processing of the scene, crime scene investigators collected items (to include cigars) that were left and sent those items off for laboratory DNA testing.

Detectives recently received information that DNA samples had been obtained from the cigars and that the samples were being submitted into the database for comparison. One sample came back as a match to 43-year-old Brian Montalvo Tolentino, who resides at 115 Walpole Loop in Davenport.

On January 6, Lake detectives contacted The Polk County Sheriff’s Office, whose detectives obtained a search warrant for mouth swabs from Tolentino for a direct DNA comparison.

Lake detectives then met with and interviewed Tolentino, during which he confessed to going to the cemetery with another individual, 39-year-old Juan Burgos Lopez, of 5170 Timberlane Road in Lake Wales, and committing the crimes. Tolentino stated that Lopez used a crowbar to open the vaults and then removed the heads of the deceased. He stated they removed four heads from the four graves and then returned to Lopez’s residence. He stated the heads were taken for religious practices.

Polk sheriff’s detectives were then able to obtain and execute a search warrant for Lopez’s residence last night in an effort to locate and recover any of the human remains. During the search, detectives located a total of six skulls, a hand, partial arm, and multiple other large bones within what appeared to be some sort of religious shrine. Lopez identified four skulls as being those obtained from the Edgewood Cemetery and stated the other two skulls were obtained from other practitioners. He also had an additional skull that he claimed was fake.

Both men were arrested on the Lake County warrants by Polk sheriff’s deputies and were transported to the Polk County Jail where they were booked in with bonds of $40,000 each. Both were charged with four counts of Disturbing the Contents of a Grave and four counts of Abuse of a Dead Human Body. Polk County Sheriff’s Office may be adding criminal charges for their jurisdiction as well.

One of the graves desecrated was that of Calvin McNair, a U.S. Marine and retired Connecticut police officer who died in 1992.

“They took his skull,” Judd said. “If that doesn’t get your blood boiling…he was buried in his dress blues.”

Another was World War I U.S. Army Sgt. Elbert Carr, whose skull was also taken.   On his Facebook page, religious leaders 39-year-old Juan Burgos-Lopez  posted that cemeteries were “shopping centers”, often complaining that it’s difficult to get human remains to practice his religion in the United States.

Judd said it’s going to be hard to practice their religion where they’re going, because, “Our jail doesn’t stock skulls.”
