SAN DIEGO, CA – It’s not sure what he was thinking, riding his bike around San Diego with a sawed-off shotgun, but probably nothing good.  Early this morning, San Diego police witnessed a man riding his bicycle at night without a light around 3:00AM.

“When we turned on our spotlight we saw him throw what looked like a shotgun on the ground and continue on,” police said. “We got a closer look and confirmed it was indeed a shotgun. We caught up to him and told him to stop. He listened to us and complied. Turns out the man was a convicted felon and wasn’t supposed to own any firearms, let alone a shotgun with a sawed off barrel. He was arrested for a variety of weapons violations.”

Police did not release the suspect’s name.

BOSTON, MA -At about 6:55 PM on Tuesday, December 8, 2020, officers assigned to District D-4 (South End) arrested two suspects following a traffic stop in the area of 1786 Washington Street in Roxbury which resulted in the recovery of a loaded firearm. The officers had approached a vehicle that was illegally parked and running in a clearly marked “No Standing” zone.

Officers soon learned that the operator, Aaren Howard, 30, of Brockton, did not possess a valid driver’s license. As the officers were speaking with the driver, their attention was drawn to the front seat passenger, later identified as Anthony Austin, 24, of Dorchester, who made repeated attempts to reach for an unidentified item in his right-side pants pocket. When the officers attempted to remove and pat frisk both parties, the passenger suddenly became angered and attempted to flee resulting in a violent struggle.

Officers were able to gain control of the suspect at which time they safely recovered a loaded .380 caliber Jimenez Arms Incorporated handgun from inside his zippered pants pocket. Officers also recovered a large amount of marijuana from inside a bag that the suspect was holding as he attempted to flee. The operator was placed in custody on scene without incident.

LITTLE EGG HARBOR, NJ – Jessica and Jonathan Young of Little Egg Harbor have been coping with unimaginable pain since their 9-month-old son Damien tragically passed away on April 30, 2020. Their personal strength has been stretched to the limits as they continue to provide loving care and support to their seven children.

“The pain of losing a child is something that no parent should ever have to feel,” said Jessica. “However, we are fortunate to be surrounded by family and loved ones who are always here to love and support us. We are also blessed to have connected with Family Services Coordinator Sara Patterson and the caring group at NJ Sharing Network.”

Jessica and Jonathan, are grateful that they made the decision to donate Damien’s organs and tissue for transplant. Damien’s heart helped save the life of a 9-month-old girl and his liver saved a 1-year-old boy. However, Jessica recalls that it was not an easy decision to make during a traumatic time.

“It was very difficult to hear that Damien was not going to come back to us,” said Jessica. “Sara and the staff at Hackensack Meridian Health Jersey Shore University Medical Center comforted me and provided the best possible support. They helped us understand that Damien was special and had a universal blood type that could help save just about anyone who needed an organ transplant. That is when we decided Damien would become an organ donor.”

The NJ Sharing Network flag was raised at Jersey Shore University Medical Center as a fitting tribute to Damien. During a time when many people were scared to be around hospitals, Damien’s family and friends showed up, stayed safe and gave honor to their hero. They held his pictures and toys and made shirts in his favorite color – red. They even live streamed the ceremony for those who were unable to attend.

“The flag raising was a beautiful experience that we got to share with our family and friends, and with NJ Sharing Network who stood by us every step of the way,” said Jessica.

Jessica is grateful that Sara and other NJ Sharing Network team members continue to provide much-needed support. “It has been many months since we lost our little boy and NJ Sharing Network still keeps in close touch. They have become a huge part of our family,” said Jessica.

CLEARWATER, FL – It’s like finding a needle in a haystack, a 3-mile long haystack to be exact.  That’s what happened this week when a Pinellas County couple who came to Clearwater Beach for Thanksgiving lost a wedding ring at the beach.

Police here said the couple sent an email to the Clearwater Police Department asking if anyone turned in their ring.  Nobody had.  Imke and Tobias Borawski were crushed when Tobias lost his wedding ring on their visit. They didn’t think they would ever see it again.

The department didn’t dismiss the email as could have so easily been done.  Instead, the email was forwarded to officers who work the beach in case it was turned in. The ring wasn’t found that weekend, but on the following Monday, Police Service Technician Val Hornbeck mentioned a local group of metal detector enthusiasts that works to reunite people with their lost jewelry and other possessions.

“We thought the ring would never be found,” said Imke Borawski, who lives in Pinellas County along with her husband and family. “We were so sad, we did not know what to do.”

She didn’t know that the Suncoast Research and Recovery Club, a member of an international group called The Ring Finders, is made up of about 100 people from the Tampa Bay area who volunteer their services to people such as the Borawskis. In the last nine years, they’ve used metal detectors to return 607 items to their owners, mostly rings.

Ringfinders Suncoast Research And Recovery Club

“If it’s there, we are going to find it,” said Howard Metts, president of the local club.

Six days after the ring went missing, Metts and two other club members, Ed Osmar and Bill Gallant, met Imke Borawski on the stretch of north Clearwater Beach where the ring had been lost. One complicating factor is they weren’t sure if it was lost in the water or on the sand.

The three treasure hunters asked her to show them exactly where she and her family had been for their day at the beach. The trio then methodically and painstakingly searched the sand and water looking for it. One of the men even traced all the way back to their parking spot, the Clearwater Police Department reported.

After about 45 minutes, Gallant found the ring in the sand about 80 feet from the water.

“I was overwhelmed. I started to cry and I could not find the words for it,” Imke Borawski said. “It’s priceless. The emotional value of this ring is priceless.”
The ring finders more than enjoyed their role in the happy conclusion to the ring caper.

“If you saw the expression on her face, it was priceless,” Metts said.

The Borawskis said they will be forever indebted to the three for finding the ring. After all, it’s been with them the last 17 years of marriage.

“These three people shared their time with us and they didn’t even know us. It was so amazing,” Imke Borawski said. “It was our perfect Christmas story. I think we will smile about this for the rest of our lives.”

Information in this report was provided by the Clearwater Police Department.

MANCHESTER TWP, NJ –  A Manchester man has been charged with aggravated assault for causing an accident in November that sent a 44-year-old Toms River woman to the hospital in critical condition.  That woman is still recovering from her injuries in the Jersey Shore Medical Center’s rehabilitation facility.

The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office announced that William Andujar, 49, of Whiting, has been charged with Aggravated Assault and Assault by Auto in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:12-1c(2), relative to a motor vehicle crash which occurred in Berkeley Township during the evening hours of November 2, 2020.  Additionally, Andujar was charged with the following motor vehicle offenses:  Driving While Intoxicated, Reckless Driving, Careless Driving,  Tailgating, Failure to Maintain Lane of Travel,  Failure to Produce a Driver’s License and Failure to Produce a Valid Registration.

On November 2, 2020, at approximately 7:00 pm., Berkeley Township Police responded to a report of crash involving two motor vehicles in the area of West Pinewald Keswick Road.  An investigation by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Vehicular Homicide Unit and Berkeley Township Police Department revealed that Andujar, who was traveling westbound in a 2010 Honda CRV, crashed into a 2003 Hyundai Elantra operated by Susan Ewing, 44, of South Toms River, from behind.  The impact forced both vehicles off the roadway into a wooded area.  The victim, Ms. Ewing, sustained serious bodily injuries as a consequence of Andujar crashing into her vehicle.  Ms. Ewing was flown to Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune for treatment of those injuries.  Ms. Ewing was subsequently discharged to a rehabilitation facility where she presently remains.

Andujar was likewise transported to Jersey Shore Medical Center following the crash, and a search warrant was obtained for a draw of his blood.  Laboratory results from the blood draw – received by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office on November 23, 2020 – indicated that Andujar had a Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) of .129 percent at the time his blood was drawn.  In the State of New Jersey, an operator of a motor vehicle is presumed to be over the legal limit for purposes of alcohol consumption where his/her BAC is .08 or greater.  The laboratory results also revealed a significant quantity of Methadone in Andujar’s system.

“On November 24, 2020, Andujar was arrested by Detectives from the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Vehicular Homicide Unit and South Toms River Police Department and charged with Assault by Auto.  The additional charge of Aggravated Assault was filed today, December 8, 2020, as a result of further developments in the investigation.  Andujar has been lodged in the Ocean County Jail since his arrest on November 24, 2020 and is pending a detention hearing,” the office said in a statement.

TRENTON, NJ – Criminal justice reform in New Jersey and the revolving door of the New Jersey jail and prison system is at work as Trenton just surpassed the all time number of annual murders in the city.  On Tuesday, the 43rd homicide of the year took place in the state capital that seems more concerned about how many people are sitting in a bar than combatting the actual crime and violence that is plaguing the state in 2020.

The previous record was 37 in 2013.   Last year, there were 15 homicides in the state capital and 16 the year before.

The Mercer County Homicide Task Force responded to the first block of Chase Street in Trenton just before 4 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon for a reported shooting homicide.  Around 3:30 p.m., Trenton police responded to a call regarding a shot male.  Police and ambulance responded and found the victim in the street suffering a gunshot wound.  He was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

The victim has been identified as Joel Alexander, 49, of Trenton.  Anyone with information is asked to contact the Mercer County Homicide Task Force at (609) 989-6406.  Information can also be emailed to [email protected].

NEW YORK – Audrey Strauss, the Acting United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, William F. Sweeney Jr., Assistant Director-in-Charge of the New York Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (“FBI”), and Dermot Shea, Commissioner of the New York City Police Department (“NYPD”), announced charges against STEVE ROSADO, a registered sex offender, for attempted enticement of two minor girls in New York, New York.  ROSADO was arrested yesterday evening and presented in Manhattan federal court today, before U.S. Magistrate Judge Sarah Netburn.

Acting U.S. Attorney Audrey Strauss stated:  “Steve Rosado allegedly attempted to harm society’s most vulnerable – trying to engage in sexual activity with two young children, whom he believed to be 12 and 9 years old – even after he had been convicted of sex offenses in the past and required to register as a sex offender.  I thank the FBI and the NYPD for their work in investigating and arresting Rosado before he could harm any more victims.”

FBI Assistant Director William F. Sweeney Jr. said:  “As alleged, Mr. Rosado knew exactly what he was doing when he arranged to have sex with two children, one of whom he believed was only 9 years old.  As a convicted sex offender, he knew the risk and allegedly took it anyway.  He is now in federal custody and facing prosecution.  It’s not easy to investigate sexual predators.  The agents, detectives, and analysts who constitute the FBI/NYPD Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force do this work each and every day hoping to stop the next offender from harming another child.”

NYPD Commissioner Dermot Shea said:  “These charges, by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York reflect our continuing commitment to keep those would who prey on children from stalking our streets.  I praise our detectives and federal partners for their work in fighting on behalf of society’s most vulnerable individuals.”

According to the allegations in the Complaint charging ROSADO:[1]

On or about November 29, 2020, an undercover FBI agent (“UC-1”), posing as the mother of a 12-year-old girl and a 9-year-old girl, initiated a series of conversations on an instant messaging platform with an individual identified to be ROSADO.  Thereafter, UC-1 and ROSADO had numerous communications via the instant messaging platform, text message, and telephone call.

In these conversations, ROSADO repeatedly expressed, in graphic and unambiguous terms, his desire to engage in sexual activity with both children – including both oral and private partsl sex.  To help alleviate any concerns UC-1 might have regarding ROSADO having sexual relations with her young children, ROSADO provided UC-1 with his recent test results for COVID-19 and HIV, and he discussed what he and UC-1 could do if he were to impregnate one of the children.

UC-1 and ROSADO arranged to meet at a bar in Manhattan on the evening of December 7, 2020, with the understanding that they would return to UC-1’s apartment afterward and ROSADO would then engage in sexual activity with the children.  On the evening in question, ROSADO met UC-1 at the agreed-upon location.  After the two of them left the bar and began walking toward UC-1’s purported apartment, law enforcement arrested ROSADO.  ROSADO was in possession of a backpack containing, among other things, a toothbrush, a change of clothes, and lubricant.

*                *                *

If you’re old enough, you might remember Doogie Howser M.D.   Now, we introduce you to Doggie Howser M.D.   Cooper, the “Aussie Dog” is a brilliant lad who popped up and began having his mum CPR the minute he realized she was in the shit.  Jingoes! Cooper said as he started chest compressions as mum laid crook on the floor.  After saving her life, both appeared to be bright eyed and bushy tailed.   Don’t like my Aussie impression, that’s ok, watch the video and you’ll soon forget all about.

WILMINGTON, DE – Joe Biden who is currently the President-Elect of the United States said today should his November election win be officially confirmed by the electoral college, he will force all American’s to wear face masks for his first 100 days in office.  Biden said he will sign a Presidential executive order declaring a mask mandate on his first day in office.

“First, my 100 day masking plan. It starts with my signing an order on Day One to require masks where I can — like federal buildings and interstate travel on planes, trains, and buses. I’ll be working with governors and mayors to do the same in states and cities,” Biden said. “We are going to require masks wherever possible, but this goes beyond government action. And so, as a new President, I’m going to speak directly to the American people.”

Biden said he needs your help in achieving his goal. He did not say what the federal penalties would be for not complying with his national mask mandate.

“We need your help. Wear a mask for 100 days. It’s the easiest thing you can do to reduce COVID cases, hospitalizations, and deaths. Help yourself, your family, your community. Whatever your politics or point of view — mask up for 100 days,” Biden said. “100 days to make a difference. It’s not a political statement — it’s a patriotic act. It won’t be the end of our efforts. But it’s a necessary and easy start.”

Many states which have strict mask mandates already on the books, enacted by executive order by state governors are seeing sharp increases in COVID-19 positive cases in their states.  States such as New York, California and New Jersey which have among the toughest mask mandates and marketing campaigns for “masking up” are also the states which lead the nation in COVID-19 deaths since the pandemic began.

This week Biden announced Dr. Anthony Fauci, Chief Medical Adviser to the President on COVID-19.

“I need somebody who tells me what I need to hear,” Biden said of Fauci. “Not somebody who tells me what I want to hear.”

NASHVILLE, TN – The western hemisphere’s largest professional women softball league has suspended its 2021 season, the league announced today.  Confronted with multiple COVID-related problems, the National Pro Fastpitch (NPF) has decided to suspend games for the 2021 season, making this the second consecutive year the league has done so.  NPF home venues either are not available, or are available only with restrictive conditions on attendance and COVID protocols, making individual team operations difficult.  A season already curtailed by the one-year delay of the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, is expected to be abbreviated further by quarantine requirements imposed on the international teams participating in NPF. Those Olympic teams of Australia (Aussie Peppers), Canada (Canadian Wild), and Mexico (Cleveland Comets) would be hindered with entrance and exit requirements that would inevitably include practice and training-limiting quarantines, along with general Issues of player health and safety. Planning for a 2022 season will commence once the issues of safety for fans, players, and staff, have been resolved.

BROOKLYN, NY – As crime spirals out of control in Bill DeBlasio’s lawless city of New York, the latest incident of insanity comes as an EMS crew was lured into a Brooklyn neighborhood on a false call only to be robbed.  It happened Monday night at 11 pm at a call to 365 Sackman Street.  A man and woman, both members of the volunteer EMS crew responded to a call of a patient experiencing difficulty breathing.   As they got off the elevator on the 11th floor to treat the victim, they were instead met by a masked gunman.   There was no patient in this call, just an opportunity to rob the EMS workers of their valuable equipment.
