Nobody wants to walk home after a long night out, especially this tot from Long Island City in New York.  She needs to get home and get there quick, but she needs an uber…and her home is two blocks away. We have to say, she did handle herself better than Portland City Commissioner Jo Ann Hardesty, for that we give her credit.  Sounds like when they finally make it home, mom is going to also need something…a nice bottle of wine.

Davao City, PH -A two-week old puppy who beat the odds of mother nature getting a head rub is about the cutest thing you’ll see all day today.  According to the owner, the story of the pup is one that highlights the fragility of life.  The pup’s mom was pregnant to 4 others.  Two of those puppies had a low heart rate of 160bpm and the veterinarian performed a C-Section on just the 59thd day of pregnancy. Four pups came out and one died during delivery. After 3 hours, another puppy passed away. The owners took the remaining two male puppies and after 24 hours of home care, another one died.  This puppy in the video is now the only survivor.  “Sad story, but the puppy is super healthy now,” the pup’s new forever friends said.

COLUMBIA FALLS, MT – On November 12th, at approximately 5:50 pm, The Columbia Falls Police Department  was dispatched to the Super One Foods in Columbia Falls for a report of a vehicle that had driven through the front doors of the business and continued driving within the store.

The Columbia Falls Police Department and the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office responded to the call but the driver had fled the scene in his vehicle prior to law enforcement arrival. A short time later the suspect vehicle, a 1995 Chevrolet Lumina, was located across the highway where it had apparently crashed into a trailer that disabled the vehicle.
The driver fled the scene of the second crash on foot. Witnesses on scene described the driver as approximately 40-50 years of age with dark hair and a mustache or beard, and also described the clothing he was wearing.
Within minutes, our department was advised of a nude male running down the hallway of a nearby retirement home that was adjacent to the area of the abandoned Chevrolet Lumina. Officers located this nude male approximately one block west of the retirement home and detained him. Employees of the retirement home were able to identify the male through previous contacts and he had a known relationship with a resident there.
After a short initial investigation, it was determined that the nude male was in fact the driver of the Chevrolet Lumina that had driven through Super One. The male showed signs of drug impairment at the time of his arrest, and part of our investigation will be to determine whether he was under the influence while operating his motor vehicle. This suspect was transported to a local hospital for non-injury medical issues and will be transported to the Flathead County Detention Center when he is medically cleared. Because the male suspect has not been transported or booked at this time, our department cannot report his name or the pending charges he faces, but they will be numerous.
On Friday, at approximately 2:00 pm, the Columbia Falls Police Department had identified, arrested, and charged the suspect and driver who drove into and through, Super One Foods as 50-year-old Alan Roger Connor Jr. of Columbia Falls. As a result of Connor’s actions, he is being charged with the following crimes:
1. Attempted Negligent Vehicular Assault
2. Criminal Endangerment
3. Criminal Mischief (3) Felony
4. Aggravated DUI
5. Driving While License Suspended or Revoked
6. Operating a motor vehicle with no proof of insurance
7. Duty to give information or render aid at an accident scene
“Our investigation has led us to believe that Connor’s actions were not in any way related to a political, social, or terroristic-type attack and this was an isolated incident. If you were inside Super One Foods at the time of this incident, and haven’t already talked with our personnel, please call (406) 892-3234 so we can accurately determine the amount of people in the store at the time the vehicle broke through the doors,” the department said.

“I was walking up to one of the registers and heard a loud bang and walked to the doors to see what that was about and then I heard a scream and people running away from the doors and that’s when I saw the car bust through the second pair of sliding doors and didn’t stop there,” said the employee who shared the video.  “I was confused at first thinking it was an accident but when he kept driving towards us I knew it wasn’t an accident and ran upstairs to a safe level.”

WASHINGTON, DC – The Army has always been jealous of the Marine Corps.  We win wars, we get all the glory, but most of all, Marines get all the attention…and the girls.   Many in the army accept that as a way of life and go on about their day and accomplish their own mission, but for newly appointed Pentagon Aide and former U.S. Army Colonel Douglas Macgregor, that red-headed stepchild syndrome he had manifested itself into hate and anger against the men and women wearing those snappy dress blues.

The Marine Corps must go!

That’s what Macgregor said in a 2012 Time Magazine rant…or as they call it, editorial.

“The Marines as currently organized and equipped are about as relevant as the Army’s horse cavalry in the 1930s and the Marines are not alone. They have company in the Army’s XVIII Airborne Corps,” jealous Macgregor said, probably because some young Marine swept his gal off her feet while he was laying in a fart sack in the field somewhere in Fort Bragg.

Here’s some of his finer points from that editorial:

The only amphibious craft they really need are the next-gen LCACs and LCUs. The only wet-well ships they need are LSD 41s — and those need to be kept in production to gradually replace older LSDs and the troublesome LPDs.

No one will set out to establish a defended beachhead because U.S. aircraft from the Air Force and the Navy will easily target and destroy the defenses.

Today, enemy forces will mine approaches from the sea, and rely on stand-off attack to drive surface fleets away from coastlines. They’ll employ their ground forces, particularly mobile armored forces, inland, away from the coast. These mobile reserves will attack within the range of the defending forces’ own artillery and airpower to destroy elements that attempt to come ashore whether over the beach or through ports.

Most of today’s Marine force consists of airmobile light infantry. This Marine force is designed for use in the developing world against incapable opponents from Haiti to Fiji, but not much else.

Expeditionary Force sustained 318,000 casualties, including 110,000 killed in action. That’s the kind of lethality waiting for U.S. forces in a future war with real armies, air forces, air defenses and naval power.

Ignoring this reality is the road to future defeats and American decline. It’s time to look beyond the stirring images of infantrymen storming machine-gun nests created by Hollywood and to see war for what it is and will be in the future: the ruthless extermination of the enemy with accurate, devastating firepower from the sea, from the air, from space and from mobile, armored firepower on land.

The loving and caring side of nature was on full display in a now viral-video this week as baby Edward greets the girls and the alpaca babies in this adorable clip. This video is clear evidence that nature has so much to offer and compassion and kindness is a trait of humans and alpacas alike.

TONGA – A group of swimmers had an experience of a lifetime in a video going viral this week, “These lucky people were swimming in the waters of Tonga, hoping to see these magnificent whales in their own habitat. They didn’t expect to be so close as a gigantic male rocketed upwards and exploded through the surface in a spectacular breach. The incident was thrilling, and a little unsettling at the same time as this 50,000kg giant was not far away from the swimmers when le leaped in the air and came crashing down again. The true enormity of a whale cannot be fully appreciated until you see one from such a close vantage point.”

After production was halted due to COVID-19 earlier this year, BATTLEBOTS is back for a brand-new season of epic robotic combat. Sixty teams from across the globe have converged for the hardest hitting, unremitting, steel splitting tournament in combat robotics. Unproven rookies, up-and-coming stars and legends in the game will throw their fearsome fighting machines into the BattleBox for a chance to walk away with the preeminent prize in robotic sport: The Giant Nut. The ultimate robot-fighting series, BATTLEBOTS returns for an all-new metal crunching season, premiering Thursday, December 3 at 8PM ET/PT on Discovery Channel.

The action-packed metal madness kicks off with an epic main clash – former world champion Ray Billings with his lethal bot Tombstone faces Jack Barker’s End Game from New Zealand. Other stars include Whiplash and SawBlaze, both with championship aspirations. Captain Shrederator, hoping to spin its way to a win against Lock-Jaw, and Bloodsport, who will be out for blood against Skorpios. This year’s builders have put their robots to the ultimate test and will stop at nothing to take down the competition.

Sportscaster Chris Rose and UFC fighter Kenny Florian return once again to provide play-by-play commentary, while Jenny Taft reports from the builder pits and Faruq Tauheed is the ring announcer. Also, a new expert will be joining the commentary team: the Bot Whisperer, aka BATTLEBOTS veteran and robot guru Peter Abrahamson.

Filming with cast, crew and bot builders was carried out under the strictest health and safety protocols, with constant supervision and regular testing, and without a live audience. Instead, the spectators were the teams themselves, watching all the action (and their competitors) from specially constructed “opera boxes” placed around the giant BattleBox arena.

Each match consists of two remote-controlled robots competing in a single, three-minute round with the goal to destroy or disable their opponent. If there is no knockout during the battle, a panel of judges will declare a victor. Their goal is to qualify for the 32-team, single elimination World Championship Tournament, culminating in the award of The Giant Nut at the end of the season.

Each episode highlights the design and build of the competing robots and profiles the teams behind them. Competitors come from all types of backgrounds – from families to university students and everything in between. Every machine is homemade and constructed from a variety of materials with custom-built weaponry to destroy the competition. The youngest competitor is just 11 years old and this season’s lineup includes the first ever 500lb walking robot.

In addition to watching BATTLEBOTS on Discovery, viewers can join the conversation on social media by using the hashtag #BattleBots and following Discovery on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Fans can also use the BattleBots AR filter (WT) on Instagram, Facebook, and Snapchat to share which bot the randomizer selects for them.

BATTLEBOTS remains the most popular robotic combat sport in the world, created by Ed Roski and Greg Munson and now seen in over 150 countries. It is produced by BattleBots, Inc. and Whalerock Industries. Executive producers are Chris Cowan, Edward P. Roski (Trey), Greg Munson, Tom Gutteridge and Aaron Catling. For Discovery Channel, Scott Lewers, Joseph Boyle and Wyatt Channell are executive producers and Paola Espinosa is associate producer.

BRECKENRIDGE, CO – U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) arrested a dangerous illegal alien Friday who was wanted in Colorado on felony charges stemming from a sexual assault on a child. On July 23, the Summit County Sheriff’s Office in Breckenridge, Colorado, arrested and booked Rafael Ceba-Garcia into the Garfield County Jail. He was arrested on two counts of sexual assault of a child by a person in a position of trust. The victim in this case was a female child under 15 years of age.

“The coordinated efforts between the Phoenix and Denver ICE offices exemplify the tremendous work the men and women of ICE undertake to identify and prioritize the targeting of individuals who pose considerable threats to the most vulnerable,” said Corey A. Price, field office director for ERO Phoenix.

Ceba-Garcia is a citizen of Spain who initially entered the U.S. in February 2013 as a nonimmigrant visitor under the Visa Waiver Program, but failed to depart the U.S., overstaying his term of his admission by more than seven years.

On July 24, ERO Denver lodged an immigration detainer with the Garfield County Jail; however, the detainer was not honored due to Colorado’s sanctuary law, and Ceba-Garcia was released Aug. 12, after he posted a cash bond. On Oct. 15, the Summit County District Court issued a bench warrant for Ceba-Garcia after he failed to appear at his criminal court hearing.

On Oct. 16, ERO Denver provided ERO Phoenix with an investigative lead that Ceba-Garcia was residing in Apache Junction, Arizona. That lead resulted in a successful ICE arrest.

Ceba-Garcia will remain in ICE custody pending removal to his home country. ICE will alert Colorado officials of Ceba-Garcia’s custody status so that they may pursue extradition through formal criminal judicial avenues.

Price continued, “We will continue to safeguard our communities by enforcing the immigration laws of the United States, and aggressively target sexual predators.”

AP: Pelosi OKs drafting of impeachment articles

Nancy Pelosi has always been out of touch with the people of her district in California.  Nobody has ever accused her of leading by example.  This example was clear earlier this year when Nancy got caught getting her hair done in a San Francisco salon during the height of the lockdown when the average person couldn’t do the same.  Now, with her city in the midst of a second shut down that bans indoor dining for the general public, Nancy wanted to host a lavish state dinner in the U.S. Capitol for newly elected Democrats in Congress.  The dinner plan also comes as Democrats across the country are telling Americans to cancel their family Thanksgiving dinners.  They are above their own rules.  It has always been that way.

The controversy started when NBC correspondent Leigh Ann Caldwell posted the following tweet:

After a Twitter firestorm erupted, even from the liberal media, Pelosi’s team scaled back the lavish indoor reception.

“Our office strictly follows the guidance of the Office of Attending Physician, including for this dinner. To be a further model for the nation, this event has been modified to allow Members-elect to pick up their meals to go in a socially-distanced manner.” said Drew Hammill, Pelosi’s lap dog, we mean Chief of Staff.

Finally, Hammill said, like many Americans, Democrat congressional members will now be picking up their state dinner in a boxed lunch.

BEDMINSTER, NJ – On election night, New Jersey incumbent Democrat Tom Malinowski was re-elected.  At least, that’s what the Associated Press said just hours after polls closed Tuesday night.

“Democrat Tom Malinowski wins reelection to U.S. House in New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District,” the AP reported.

Did he really? At this point maybe, maybe not.

The liberal media called the New Jersey congressional race between Democrat Incumbent Tom Malinowski and Republican Tom Kean, Jr. within 24 hours of the polls closing on Election Day.  Malinowski had a commanding lead over Kean, the son of former New Jersey GOP Governor Tom Kean, but as voting continued and last-minute ballots and provisional ballots are being counted, Kean has shrunk that lead to just 4,200 votes.

As of Friday evening, Malinowski held a slim 208,633 to 204,294 vote lead over Kean and it’s shrinking by the day.  With approximately 32,000 ballots left to be counted, we have seen statewide that late ballots are predominantly Republican.   After messaging by Trump and state GOP officials to use ballot boxes and provisional ballots, and a heavy Republican voter turnout could flip New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District red.

Just 24 hours ago, Kean trailed Malinowski by over 8,000 votes. The Democrat was up on Kean by 10,000 votes on Wednesday and if the trend keeps up, Kean might just be declared the winner of this race.

Both candidates have maintained radio silence on social media as ballots continue to be counted.

TRENTON, NJ – New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy on Thursday said the state is in the ‘midst of a war’ as COVID-19 positivity statewide climbed to 12%.  There were 3,517 new cases reported by the state on Thursday and 3,339 cases reported Friday, Murphy said as the second wave of COVID-19 has clearly arrived in the Garden State.  Murphy urged New Jerseyans to continue social distancing, mask-wearing and to not let their hair down.

[rumble]https://rumble.com/embed/v8ho3n/?pub=4rc8i[/rumble]

Transcript:

When you bring everything that we have done over the past several months together, and I’m hardly spiking any footballs here, we are in the midst of a war, let there be no doubt. Whether that’s our efforts to build a sizeable PPE stockpile, our enhanced testing capabilities, our ability to move resources around at a moment’s notice and now, giving our local governments the ability to take surgical action within their own borders, we are prepared to fight the second wave.

But none of this can be successful unless every New Jerseyan also recognizes their responsibility in this fight as well. We cannot let up on social distancing, on wearing our masks, or in practicing strong hand hygiene. We have got to get back to the mindset that saw us crush the curve throughout the spring. Look at all the places where and ways in which this virus is spreading. We can get a hold of this if we can get back to what worked in the spring and stick to it.

Especially with masks. The CDC has released updated guidance based on new evidence that wearing a mask is a stronger measure of protection than previously thought, protecting not just those people around the wearer, but the mask wearer as well. There is no reason whatsoever for us to stop wearing our masks. And yes, it also means that with Thanksgiving only two weeks away, we have to recognize that this is not a year for a large family gathering with loved ones coming in, especially from out of state or across age groups. Or conversely, for you all to travel to visit someone else out of state. We strongly urge you to have a smaller gathering with just your immediate cohabitants, family bubble. Anything else and you are risking your dinner table becoming a COVID hotspot.

To put a fine point on that, let me go through our current reality. 3,517 new cases today, cumulative total since March 4th, 266,986; 10,472 cases just since Monday. Essex County, more than 400 cases added today. Bergen, Passaic and Union over 300 added today. Camden, Hudson, Middlesex and Monmouth over 200. Five others over 100. We now have confirmation, with the heaviest of hearts, that another 18 New Jerseyans have died from COVID-related complications. A total of 14,694 blessed souls lost, with another 1,801 probable deaths.

Our positivity rate on test taken on Sunday is over 12%. Our rate of transmission is above one, it has been above one, it’s now at 1.3. There are 1,827 patients in our hospitals. That’s a number we have not seen since June 4th, including 243 new COVID confirmed patients who entered our hospitals alone, and 20 patients again not included in our fatality number because they’re not yet confirmed, who died in the hospital yesterday. We have 360 New Jerseyans being treated in our ICUs. That’s the highest number since June 12th, and 117 patients, Judy, are on a ventilator. We haven’t seen that number since July 7th.

Folks let these numbers sink in. COVID is not done with us, unfortunately not by a longshot. Unless we all recommit to the common sense measures that got us past the first horrendous months of this pandemic, we are in for a long, dark winter before a vaccine becomes broadly available. Again, we have got to get back to using our common sense for the common good.

TRENTON, NJ – New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy’s executive order to shut down bar service and impose a 10 pm curfew on indoor restaurant dining is now in effect. At Thursday’s COVID-19 press conference Murphy explained why he’s taking measures that appeared in the direction of  another impending lockdown scenario.

[rumble]https://rumble.com/embed/v8hnkh/?pub=4rc8i[/rumble]

Transcript:

That same Executive Order I spoke to on Monday also direct restaurants, bars, clubs and lounges to close their indoor premises between 10:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. taking effect today. This means that all customers are to be out by 10:00 p.m. I must note that other states and cities are also now following suit, notably New York where Governor Andrew Cuomo announced a 10:00 p.m. closure time yesterday. Connecticut has also instituted a 10:00 p.m. close, and Maryland and San Francisco, among other places, are pulling back on indoor dining.

However, we know that congregating is not necessarily limited to restaurants, and that this is more of a problem in some areas than others. A new peer-reviewed study published this week — and again Judy will get into this in more detail — in the journal Nature concluded that indoor venues like restaurants and gyms accounted for roughly 80% of new infections in the early months of the pandemic. This study was based on mobility data from 98 million cell phones.

Therefore, today, I will be signing an Executive Order giving municipalities and counties the option, it is an option, to regulate the operating hours of non-essential businesses after 8:00 p.m. Municipalities and counties do not have to impose additional operating hours restrictions if they do not wish to do so. As we have been noting, our approach to the second wave is to act surgically within hotspot areas, and that means giving local officials the ability to take actions to prevent localized hotspots from becoming COVID wildfires.

We have received numerous reports that as the night progresses, people begin to congregate, let their guard down and take fewer precautions. Again, we know this is not true everywhere, so we are empowering local officials, elected officials locally, to address unique situations where they feel that an operating hours restriction in the evening would help their efforts to stop the spread of COVID.

However, let me be clear: other municipal or county actions such as restrictions on essential businesses, full business closures, or restrictions on gatherings or capacity that differ from the statewide rules are impermissible and will be invalidated. We simply cannot have a patchwork of rules where certain businesses are entirely shuttered in one town but not the next, by the way, especially in New Jersey, the densest state in America. That would lead to individuals traveling to different communities and potentially further spreading COVID.

We recognize that in many ways, what we are facing today is different from what we faced in the spring, when we were forced to take drastic action statewide to mitigate uncontrolled statewide spread in the face of scarce testing resources, and limited PPE and ventilators and, frankly, Judy and Tina, with limited knowledge of what this virus was, among other critical needs. Today, we have a much stronger testing regime in place and we have a greater ability to effectively mobilize hotspot teams and other resources. By working alongside and through local health and public safety officials, we believe we can have a more effective and efficient means of attacking this virus in the second wave.

Myrtle Beach, SC – His name might be Teazer, but he’s not something you want to play with.  This week, a 651 pound, 10 foot long great white shark named Teazer was spotted just off the coast of Myrtle Beach.   Teazer was last seen this week, approximately 10 miles off the coast.  He’s been track swimming northward from just outside of Edisto beach earlier this month.  Teazer is one of many sharks being tracked by Ocearch, a marine research and tracking organization to help the scientific community study the ocean’s great creatures.

Teazer was tagged on October 3rd, 2019 off the coast of Lunenburg, Nova Scotia.

“White shark Teazer is named after a ghost ship, called the Young Teazer, that lore has it returns to the Mahone Bay area every year. Just like the ship returns, OCEARCH will be watching closely to see if white shark Teazer also returns on a regular basis,” Ocearch says.

If a dog and a cat can get along, then this is nature’s way of showing that even Democrats and Republicans can get along.  Check out this adorably cute video that is going viral today of a dog and a cat playing together.  Who knows, maybe America can get back to Democrats and Republicans playing nice together.

There’s plenty of reasons not to live in a neighborhood with a Homeowners’ Association, but HOA Karens are the biggest reason you should never dive into the unknown when buying a home.  In this video that went viral today showing an HOA Karen just being a complete nag against her neighbor working on his car.  She later rips into him for his late night ventures out of the house…to go to work.   The only thing this HOA forgot to do was call the police or file a complaint with the HOA board.  The real question is why is she looking outside her window late at night when he goes to work.

RICHMOND, Va. – A federal indictment was unsealed today charging six individuals with conspiracy to bribe staff members and receive bribes as staff members at Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Petersburg to introduce drugs, cigarettes, and cellular telephones into the federal prison and to allow the running of an inmate gambling operation in violation of Bureau of Prison regulations.

According to the indictment, Stephen Taylor, 48, and Shanice Bullock, 28, who were employed at the prison in Petersburg, sought and received tens of thousands of dollars over the course of the conspiracy from inmate Dontay Cox, 37, and associates of Cox, including his mother, Kim Williams, 56, and girlfriend, Rameesha Smith, 36, to facilitate the introduction of the controlled substances, cigarettes, and cellular telephones.

According to the indictment, Cox worked alongside other inmates at FCI Petersburg, including fellow FCI Petersburg inmate Travian Taylor, 29, to run his contraband scheme inside the prison.  FCI Petersburg inmates and their associates would then pay Williams, Smith, and another co-conspirator using a variety of methods. Stephen Taylor and Bullock were paid thousands of dollars via wire transfers from Walmart-2-Walmart.

All six defendants are charged with conspiracy to defraud the United States. If convicted, they face a maximum penalty of five years in prison. Additionally, Stephen Taylor, Bullock, Williams, and Cox are charged with multiple counts of offering bribes to and receiving bribes by public officials.  If convicted, each faces a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison per count. Cox is also charged with possessing marijuana in the prison. If convicted, Cox faces a maximum penalty of five years in prison. Actual sentences for federal crimes are typically less than the maximum penalties. A federal district court judge will determine any sentence after taking into account the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.

G. Zachary Terwilliger, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia; David W. Archey, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI’s Richmond Field Office; and Russell W. Cunningham, Special Agent in Charge, Department of Justice Office of the Inspector General, Washington Field Office, made the announcement after the indictment was unsealed.

Assistant U.S. Attorneys Kenneth Simon, Jr. and Michael C. Moore are prosecuting the case.

BOSTON – The former president of a private tennis academy in Texas was sentenced today in connection with his involvement in a scheme to use bribery to facilitate the admission of applicants to selective colleges and universities.

Martin Fox, 63, of Houston, Texas, was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Indira Talwani to three months in prison and 15 months of supervised release, with the first three months to be in home confinement. He must also complete 250 hours of community service. Fox was also ordered to pay a fine of $95,000 and forfeiture in the amount of $245,000. In November 2019, Fox pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit racketeering.

In 2015, Fox introduced co-conspirator William “Rick” Singer to Michael Center, a tennis coach at the University of Texas (U-Texas). Center facilitated the admission of a son of one of Singer’s clients to U-Texas as a purported tennis recruit in exchange for a bribe. In return for assisting with the bribe transaction, Singer paid Fox $100,000.

Between 2015 and 2018, Fox also agreed with Singer and others to facilitate cheating on the ACT and SAT college entrance exams. Fox funneled bribe payments from Singer to Niki Williams, a test administrator for the ACT and SAT, for four of Singer’s clients. In exchange, Williams allowed another co-conspirator, Mark Riddell, to purportedly proctor the exams, despite knowing that Riddell was not proctoring the exam consistent with ACT and SAT requirements. Singer typically paid Fox $25,000 per exam, a portion of which Fox funneled to Williams.

Singer, Center, Williams and Riddell previously pleaded guilty. Singer, Williams and Riddell are pending sentencing, and Center was sentenced in February 2020 to six months in prison.

LAKEWOOD, NJ – Dr. Richard Roberts, one of Donald J. Trump’s largest campaign donors and a GOP super donor took time this week to talk about ongoing election uncertainties. Roberts said going forward, the only issue that matters is how the Trump campaign presents itself in court and how the judges rule in those cases.  He said most of what you’re seeing ongoing in the media from both sides is pure entertainment and has no impact.   Roberts also criticized the news media for ‘calling’ the election long before the votes were counted, courts ruled and elections certified.

UPLAND, CA –  A Pomona man who allegedly went to an Army Reserve Center in Upland, drove away with a military Humvee worth more than $200,000, and briefly led police on a chase through residential streets in Pomona was charged today in federal court with theft of United States government property.

Armando Garcia, 29, who is currently on parole after being convicted last year in state court on theft and burglary charges, was named today in a criminal complaint filed in United States District Court. Garcia, who was taken into state custody following the police chase on Monday, is expected to be turned over to the federal authorities later this month.

The complaint alleges that Garcia stole a militarized High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle – commonly known as a Humvee – midday on Monday. Soon after Garcia drove off with the semi-armored combat vehicle with a turret mount, Pomona Police officers saw the Humvee and attempted to make a traffic stop of the unlicensed vehicle, according to the complaint.

“During the pursuit, which lasted approximately four minutes, the Humvee traveled at excessive speeds, drove on the wrong side of the street (in the direction of oncoming traffic), failed to stop at multiple red lights and stops signs, and failed to signal for turns,” according to an affidavit filed with the complaint. Garcia stopped the Humvee in front of a residence on East Kingsley Avenue in Pomona, where he was taken into custody without further incident.

Inside the Humvee, police found a large pair of bolt cutters and an Army-approved padlock that appeared to have been cut, according to the complaint, which notes the padlock had secured a steel wire put in place to prevent the turning of the steering wheel inside the vehicle.

A criminal complaint contains allegations that a defendant has committed a crime. Every defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

If convicted of the charge in the complaint, Garcia would face a statutory maximum sentence of 10 years in federal prison.

This matter is being investigated by the FBI’s San Gabriel Valley Safe Streets Task Force. The Pomona Police Department is the sponsoring agency of the Task Force and has hosted the task force since its inception in 2008.
