NEWARK- United States Senator Cory Booker blamed his debatable testosterone levels and said he’d like to punch President Donald J. Trump.

“My testosterone sometimes makes me want to feel like punching [President Donald J. Trump], which would be bad for this elderly, out-of-shape man that he is if I did that — a physically weak specimen,” Booker said on “Late Night with Seth Meyers”.

His opponent Hirsh Singh today said even though the former Mayor of Newark acts like a tough guy from the streets, he’s far from it.

“Coming from a guy who snuck into the night at 3am when he was Mayor of Newark for a pedicure… He’s polling at 1% in the Democrat presidential primary,” Singh said. “This is just another PR gimmick to distract voters from his record of failure & incompetence.”

Singh said Booker was not only weak on threats to the President, but was especially weak when it came to taking on rampant gang violence in Newark during his tenure as mayor.

“He was too afraid to face gangs in Newark,” Singh said.  “In the real world he’s probably scared of his own shadow. We deserve better. Help me fix NJ with President Trump in 2020.”

Republican Hirsh Singh is taking on Cory Booker for U.S. Senate.

BRICK TOWNSHIP-With neighboring communities such as Jackson Township and Berkeley Township officially filing protests against the sanctuary state being created by Governor Phil Murphy and Attorney General Gurbir Grewal, Brick Township’s lone Republican councilman says his request to follow suit was rejected.

A resolution drafted by Councilman James Fozman called upon the township to officially denounce the Immigrant Trust Directive enacted by Murphy and Grewal that bars local law enforcement from cooperating with federal immigration authorities, effectively making New Jersey a sanctuary state, an election campaign promise by the Governor.

“Attorney General, Gurbir Grewal, issued a so-called ‘Immigrant Trust Directive’ that severely limits state, county and local law enforcement from cooperating with federal ICE agents,” the resolution read. “The Governing Body of the Township of Brick urges Governor Phil Murphy and Attorney General Grewal to repeal their Sanctuary State directive and reverse their position with regard to New Jersey becoming a Sanctuary State immediately.”

Fozman said he was upset when his resolution was not added to the township’s official agenda and blame board Democrats who are sympathetic towards the Murphy Administration. Fozman wanted Brick Township to officially declare that it is not a sanctuary city and will never become one.

He asked at this week’s council meeting to submit the resolution for consideration and was shutdown by hi Democrat counterparts.  A motion was made by Fozman to read the resolution and have a discussion to consider it, but no other board member would second his request.

For years, Fozman was a Democrat but said he switched parties after the Democrat Party made sweeping shifts to the far left in the past few years.

“The far-left Democrat politicians ignore laws they don’t like,” Fozman said.  “They encourage reckless behavior even though they are elected to uphold the Constitution of the United States and the laws of New Jersey.”

“This resolution was about public safety, not identity politics,” he added. “We cannot pick and choose which laws to honor and which laws to ignore.”

Just yesterday, it was announced that an illegal immigrant who killed a 7-year-old boy was released by the Atlantic County correctional system and ICE was not notified.

“Having an imposed sanctuary state is insane,” Fozman said. “It’s an insane policy and anti-America, this has nothing to do with legal immigration.”

Fozman said like all Americans, he and his wife are descendants of immigrants, but their forefathers entered the country legally and followed due process to become legal citizens of the United States.

“We have to think about security first,” he said.

Fozman said he hopes the Democrats that serve with him on the council, including Mayor John Ducey will reconsider and present the resolution for a vote.

NEWARK –  The Atlantic County Sheriff’s Department does not cooperate with ICE.  That point was made evident after an illegal alien who killed a 7 year old child was released without the agency notifying ICE.

According to the government, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) officers have arrested a Mexican national charged by the Egg Harbor Township Police Department for causing death while driving without a license, a 3rd degree felony, July 11, 2019. Jorge Rodriguez-Saldana, 30, was driving a vehicle that struck a grandmother and her two grandchildren, killing the seven-year-old child and critically injuring the grandmother.

Related: Tens of thousands rally to recall Governor Phil Murphy.

He was released from local custody on a summons following the incident. Law enforcement authorities in Atlantic County did not refer the case for ICE for review. On July 13, 2019, Rodriguez-Saldana was arrested by ICE-ERO Newark Officers in Horsham, Pennsylvania for immigration violations as he was in the U.S. illegally.

“Unfortunately this is another example that makes apparent the significant public safety concerns the NJ AG Directive limiting cooperation with ICE poses,” said John Tsoukaris, field office director for ICE-ERO Newark. “Had it not been for the persistent, courageous and diligent efforts of ICE-ERO to track him down, this individual might have fled. We will continue to make public safety our highest priority despite dangerous state policies.”

TOMS RIVER-Toms River Councilman George Wittman and Councilwoman Maria Maruca have announced the Township of Toms River has joined in the fight, alongside Berkeley Township Mayor Carmen Amato to oppose a proposed major hike in the National Flood Insurance Program.

Earlier this month, Amato led the charge against the 18-25% increase.  Now, Toms River has joined him.

“We’re asking them to go back to the drawing board,” Wittman said.

“The National Flood Insurance Program’s (NFIP) Community Rating System (CRS) is a voluntary incentive program that recognizes and encourages community floodplain management activities that exceed the minimum NFIP.  Berkeley and other Jersey Shore communities invested heavily to achieve a rating with the NFIP that provided residents with a 20% discount,” Berkeley Mayor Amato said. “Berkeley NJ has thousands of homes situated in the flood plain and the planned increases will destroy values of these homes, will force many into foreclosure and will shrink the tax ratables to our town.”

“We spent considerable funds to achieve one of the largest Flood Insurance discounts (20% CRS discount) for our residents, unfortunately, it will be negated by the massive increases. Berkeley Township Councilman Jim Byrnes said back when Berkeley approved the same measure.

Amato went one step further, calling on all affected New Jersey communities to oppose the rate increase.

“We urge other Mayors across the country to pass similar resolutions and forward them to your congressmen and Senators,” Amato said. “All residents living in a flood zone are encouraged to contact their Senators and congressmen and let them know that 18% – 25% Increases are Unaffordable.”

Berkeley Township– In the last eight years, Berkeley Township has earned nearly $12 million in federal, state and county grants, helping to keep the town’s municipal property tax rate the 2nd lowest in Ocean County and one of the lowest overall in the entire State of New Jersey according to NJ Advance Media.

Addressing everything from bullet proof vests and body cameras for police, road repair, DWI enforcement, recycling, Sandy recovery, tourism and the environment, Berkeley Township has received $11,807,480.77 in grants according to township records provided by Chief Financial Officer Fredrick Ebenau.

Berkeley Township Mayor Carmen Amato.

“We are extremely pleased to have won nearly $12 million dollars in grant funding for Berkeley Township and our taxpayers,” said Mayor Amato. “This did not happen by accident. This level of grant funding is due to the great work of our Township Council, employees and professionals, who have aggressively pursued every available funding source to ensure we keep the tax burden on residents as low as possible.”

Mayor Amato said the results are clear, and that the town has never been on a more fiscally sound footing.

“We held the line on municipal taxes again this year and our bond ratings increased from “A+” to an “AA-” – with Standard & Poor’s citing our strong budgetary performance, flexibility and very strong liquidity.” Mayor Amato Said. “If the Democrats in charge of Trenton ran the state like Mayor Amato runs Berkeley Township, New Jersey wouldn’t be enduring some of the highest taxes in the country and the nation’s worst out-migration rates.”

Mayor Amato added that this year’s Township Budget was over $5 million under the state-mandated budget tax levy cap and more than $3.1 million below the spending levy cap.

The township has received no increase in funding from the state since 2011.

“Towns and School Districts are punished by Trenton for being fiscally responsible, That’s why New Jersey is in such difficult shape. The Trenton politicians routinely punish success and reward failure when it comes to a town’s finances,” Amato said.

TRENTON-After reading former Governor Christie Todd Whitman’s column in the Star-Ledger about Trump’s criticism of America-haters in Congress, two things are certain.  Whitman still is a D.C. “Swamp Thing” and she has fallen far herself.

Her time as Governor in New Jersey wasn’t much better than Phil Murphy’s current administration.  After all, it was Whitman who declared New York City’s ground zero air quality as safe after the devastating 9/11 attacks, but other than the hundreds who have died and fallen ill since those days, who is still paying attention to that?

This week, she railed the President for responding to the bullying, racially motivated attacks against America by women like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Illhan Omar and the other whack-pack Democratic Socialist liberals and “Justice Democrats” the only way it will ever work…by out bullying the bullies.

Whitman has lost her mind…maybe it was all the air she was sniffing after 9/11 going to her mind…wait, as head of the EPA, she only visited the site twice.

“Given the scope of the tragedy from last week, I am glad to reassure the people of New York and Washington, D.C. that their air is safe to breathe and their water is safe to drink.” She said after her two brief visits. “The concentrations are such that they don’t pose a health hazard…We’re going to make sure everybody is safe.”

“In response to Trump’s tweets against these congresswomen (which he continues to defend), a Virginia church put up a sign stating, “America: Love it or Leave it” in front of the building. Freedom of speech is a basic tenet of our democracy, and separation of church and state has been a foundation of our Constitution, yet the two are so contorted here, it can be hard to unwind. On Wednesday night, the president stood before a campaign rally audience that began chanting, “Send her back!” in reference to Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn. While he subsequently has denied that he encouraged that, for an extended period of time he basked in it and didn’t resume his speech until the chant died down on its own. How have we fallen this far that a mob would suggest forcefully sending an American citizen elsewhere as a result of her suggestions for improvements to our country,” Whitman said in defense of Muslim Radical sympathizer Ilhan. “Our president has shown time and again that he is comfortable demonizing his opponents with broad strokes. Immigrants, congressional representatives, women both specific and in general, and religious minorities have all been subjected to his acrimonious attacks, but these particular tweets were not merely a racist dog whistle. They were a bugle.

Whitman needs to stand down because it’s RINO’s like her that have driven New Jersey to where we are today, last in almost everything good and first in almost everything bad nationwide.

Trump was the Republican nominee for President. She claims to be a “conservative”.  She is not.  She claims to be a Republican.  She is not.  She is no longer a leader of New Jersey conservatives and needs to stop pretending she is.

“2020 is our chance to refute the undermining of our basic institutions by this administration and demand that our representatives, on both sides of the aisle, stand up for our democratic principles. The rule of law matters, ethics matter, freedom of speech and the press matters, and the truth matters,” Whitman said, calling upon the removal of President Donald J. Trump in 2020.

We would like to see the New Jersey GOP stand behind our President, their party’s President and denounce Swamp Thing Whitman and let us know they are indeed committed to draining the swamp in this year’s assembly elections.

MANCHESTER-On Thursday, July 18, 2019, at approximately 6:57 PM, officers from the Manchester Township Police Department responded to a residence on Columbine Avenue, located in the Whiting section of Manchester Township, for a report of a vehicle crash into an occupied residence.

Upon arrival, officers observed a 2014 Nissan Altima which had impacted the front of a residence with the rear of the vehicle. The investigation revealed that the Nissan, being operated by Dawn Morace, age 60 of Whiting, had been backing out from her garage prior to the crash. It was determined that while backing, the operator lost control of the vehicle which continued to accelerate until crashing through the front door and into the front porch area of a residence located across the street. The vehicle came to final rest in the living room/ kitchen area of the residence.

At the time of the crash, the kitchen area was occupied by resident Jean Minarik, age 71 of Whiting, and Lisa Shiner, age 52 of Yorba Linda, CA. Jean Minarik was uninjured and Lisa Shiner suffered a minor injury but refused medical attention at the scene. Morace was uninjured in the crash but was subsequently placed under arrest for suspicion of driving while intoxicated. The public and media are reminded that all defendants are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Assisting at the scene were members of Quality Medical Transport, members of the Whiting Volunteer Fire Department and the Manchester Township Building Inspector. The crash is being investigated by Patrolman Kevin Rembach and Patrolman Michael O’Hara of the department’s Traffic Safety Unit.

TRENTON-New Jersey pharmacists, under a new law passed by Governor Phil Murphy, will now have to place red warning labels on potentially addictive prescription medicine.

“The opioid crisis has had a devastating impact on our communities, robbing us of too many of our friends, family members and loved ones,” Governor Murphy said. “This legislation continues our work to combat the opioid crisis by ensuring that there are warning labels outlining the risk of opioid medications, expanding access to treatment that so many need and raising awareness of just how easy it is to become addicted to opioids.”

Murphy’s enthusiasm for the red warning labels was echoed by Democratic Socialist Congressman Andy Kim, who serves Ocean County, which is one of the leaders in opioid addiction in New Jersey.

“This is a great step in combating the opioid addiction crisis that has had a tremendous impact on Burlington and Ocean Counties,” Kim said. “There’s real momentum at every level of government to bring serious solutions to the table and we must continue to work as long as thousands of lives are lost every year in New Jersey.”

TRENTON-Last week, ICE announced immigration sweeps across the country, including sanctuary states such as California and New Jersey.   Governor Phil Murphy has opposed the detainment of illegal aliens and possible criminals seeking sanctuary in his own state, advising them that they will be afforded free legal services, paid for by the taxpayers of the state.

“In anticipation of the Trump Administration’s threatened ICE raids, we are proactively reaching out to our immigrant communities to make sure they know we stand with them and are prepared to do whatever we can to protect them,” Murphy said. “Let’s be clear: The Trump Administration’s fear-mongering is un-American and dangerous. These raids do not make us safer; they will only make the work of local law enforcement more challenging and increase fears in our hardworking immigrant communities.”

Under Governor Phil Murphy’s declared sanctuary state where his administration is calling for the complete shutdown of ICE within the state, via an immigrant trust directive, legal services for illegal aliens is available.

“Any family who needs legal representation should know there are many pro bono legal services available to them. We will be doing everything we can to highlight these resources and to make sure our immigrant communities know their rights and feel at home.”

TRENTON-Governor Phil Murphy today is reaping the rewards of a vibrant, growing Trump economy, despite his best efforts to hijack it and flush it down the drain in his own state. Even with Murphy’s best efforts to cripple workers and business in the Garden State, the Trump economy is softening the blow here.

According to Governor Phil Murphy, New Jersey’s unemployment rate is 3.5%, 2 points below the national average of 3.7%.   In fact, the unemployment rate in New Jersey is now at its lowest point since 1976.

The preliminary unemployment numbers for June, released Thursday by the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development, show total nonfarm wage and salary employment in the state increasing by 10,200 in June to reach a seasonally adjusted level of 4,204,600. Gains were realized in both the private and public sectors of the state’s economy.

Murphy, of course, gave no credit to the President’s efforts on the national and international economic stage.

“Today, New Jersey is working for more families and more families are working,” said Governor Murphy. “Today’s news that New Jersey’s unemployment rate has fallen to its lowest level in recorded history shows, clearly, that our efforts to grow our economy the right way are paying real dividends. From creating good-paying jobs to making health care more affordable and accessible to expanding access to education from pre-K through an associate’s degree, we’re focused on building an economy that works for every New Jersey family. Today, we can say confidently that New Jersey is moving in the right direction.”

MT. HOLLY-Multiple warnings were issued today as the heatwave sweeping across New Jersey is expected to intensify this weekend.

Today’s heat index is expected to climb to 106 degrees this afternoon and 110 degrees on Saturday and Sunday.  Actual temperatures will be in the mid to upper 90’s across New Jersey with dangerous heat and humidity levels expected around noon each day through late afternoon.

The National Weather Service warns excessive heat and humidity may cause heat stress or heat stroke. The most susceptible individuals are the elderly and those with pre-existing health issues.

“Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When possible, reschedule strenuous activities to the early morning or the late evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke,” the NWS said. “Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing. Drink plenty of water. To reduce your risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in a shaded or air conditioned environment. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool shaded location. ”

Heat stroke is an emergency, call 9 1 1. An Excessive Heat Warning means that a prolonged period of dangerously hot temperatures will occur. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity will create a DANGEROUS SITUATION. Stay in an air-conditioned environment, stay out of the sun, and check on elderly relatives and neighbors. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in a vehicle under any circumstance. This is especially true during hot weather when a car`s interior can reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.

An air quality alert has also been issued for Friday across most of the southern half of New Jersey.

“An Ozone Action Day has been declared,” The NWS said. “Ozone is forecast to reach the unhealthy for sensitive groups category along the I-95 corridor due to hot temperatures, sunny skies, and light southwesterly winds. Sensitive individuals including the very young, the elderly, and persons with respiratory diseases such as asthma, should avoid strenuous outdoor activities during the afternoon and early evening hours.”

TOMS RIVER-Last year, Toms River voters passed a contentious $149,000,000 school referendum that sought to improve deteriorating conditions across the district.  This week, the district released updates on some of those projects being completed during the summer break.

Some of the items completed by the district include replacing all of the turf fields at the three high schools, which cost the district $1.2 million, replacement of old incandescent lighting, boiler repairs, sidewalk repairs and playground construction at the elementary schools.   The district spent $1.2 million on the playground replacement after deeming existing playgrounds as unsafe, according to the district.

Next items on the agenda will be to replace flooring at Toms River Intermediate East, Silver Bay Elementary School and Toms River Intermediate North. New sets of lockers will be installed at Toms River High Schools North and South.

The district will spend $2.6 million to pave the gravel and dirt parking lot at the John Bennett Athletic Complex (bubble).

TOMS RIVER-The Township of Toms River has torn down its notorious downtown “Heroin Hotel”, the Red Carpet Inn and announced the plans to build a new 500 unit, 8-story high-density hi-rise building just around the block.

Today, Mayor Thomas Kelaher, Councilman Maurice “Mo” Hill, Toms River Police Chief Mitch Little, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer and other municipal officials posed for cameras as the demolition of the Red Carpet Inn commenced.

According to police records, officers responded to over 750 incidents at the location since 2015. Many of those incidents involved serious offenses including narcotics, weapons and theft.

“Congratulations to Mayor Kelaher, Toms River Council, Toms River Police Department and the residents of Toms River on the demolition of the Red Carpet Inn! This motel in downtown Toms River was a hub of criminal activity. Demolition began today and is expected to be complete by the end of this month,” Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said of the occasion.

Last month, the Township Council awarded a $345,000 contract to the lowest bidder, Site Enterprises, Inc. of Little Egg Harbor, for the demolition work. The remaining demolition work will be finished by the end of the month with most work being done at night to have minimal impact on drivers.

The township paid $3.3 million for the property.

Mayor Kelaher and the township officially confirmed the new 8-story Meridia Waterside at Toms River, high-density hi-rise building

“Once the building is demolished, the Red Roof Inn location will be developed with a new waterfront park in conjunction with a river walk that will extend from Water Street to Herflicker Boulevard,” the township said in a press release. “At this time, it is proposed that the park and river walk will be developed at a higher elevation than the current adjacent parking lot. Public access to the Toms River for the launching of rooftop boats will be maintained. Capodagli Property Company, LLC has been approved as the interim developer of the lower Iron Street parking lot (adjacent to the Red Roof Inn Lot along the Toms River) and has proposed to construct Meridia Waterside at Toms River.”

“Meridia Waterside at Toms River is a new 400 rental residential apartment complex with approximately 14,500 SF of commercial space including a second floor level restaurant overlooking Huddy Park and the Toms River,” Mayor Thomas Kelaher said. “The proposal would include enhancing the existing recreational opportunities in the park adjacent to the site with activities such as a waterfront walkway and dock, a volleyball court, bocce courts and outdoor dining. Meridia Waterside at Toms River will also include other amenities such as a swimming pool, rooftop terrace and shared parking for use by existing and proposed businesses and guests visiting the river and proposed restaurant.”
