In 1993, a turn of the century kiln was found while excavating a parking lot between 213 Washington Street and the old Methodist cemetery to its west. There was once a house on the lot, but that was torn down in 1968, 25 years before the find.

An investigation by the county found the kiln may have been used to burn waste. Over 100 prohibition era bottles were also found on the site and the county believed the bottles were thrown down a chute to hide the evidence.

The house was owned by the Ayres family who also owned the Ayres Brickworks, which was located on Bachelor Street in the late 1800’s.

Inside the kiln, workers found bottles that once contained whiskey, gin, root beer and other discarded household glassware. Most were dated between 1890 and 1920.

This aerial photograph of the small community of Loveladies on Long Beach Island shows the development of Long Beach Island.  The original photo was taken in the early to mid 1950’s and the current view is the most recent Google Earth imagery available.

If you look closely, you can see that some of the original homes still exist with modifications and additions.  Loveladies is located in the northern section of Long Beach Township on Long Beach Island.

It was a location of the U.S. Life-Saving Service, established in 1871. The land adjacent to the station was owned by Thomas Lovelady and the section of the island was called “Lovelady’s” before eventually evolving into Loveladies.

Labriute Meals based in Lakewood announced  that it has completed Operation Military Passover Meals and that all of the brave men and women in all branches of U.S. military will be able to enjoy Kosher for Passover meals wherever they are.

Labriute Meals was awarded an exclusive three-year DLA contract (Defense Logistics Agency) to supply kosher MREs (meals ready to eat) to troops stationed around the world.

“Passover is an exciting yet challenging period at Labriute Meals. We have to ensure uninterrupted production of our meals to all of our market segments, but shipping meals in time for Passover to our brave men and women of all branches of the United States military is our highest priority,” says Abe Halberstam, President and Founder of Labriute Meals.

“Last year, Labriute was invited to attend the bi-annual JWB convention in Baltimore where I spoke in front of a gathering of all US Military chaplains. It was a humbling experience as well as incredibly gratifying to hear from the chaplains how much our Passover meals mean to our troops. Our Kosher MRE’s in addition to meeting religious observance, also serve as our soldiers’ connection back to their families who have to conduct a “Seder” without them,” continued Mr. Halberstam.

Mr. Halberstam explains, “The challenge stems from having to end our regular production of kosher MREs, then prepare and certify our equipment for our Kosher for Passover so production can begin. It is quite a complex logistical project as we have to coordinate “kashrut” of our plant as well as receipt of all of the Kosher for Passover food ingredients.”

Labriute ships over ten thousand kosher MRE meals which will be dispatched by the DLA to all branches of the military including active engagement territories. “We are truly honored to be part of this project. In 2016, Labriute was called upon to deliver additional meals to our troops. Our trucks drove through the night to meet one of the Navy ships in order for meals to reach their destination. A truly gratifying experience for all of our employees,” said Mr. Halberstam.

Drexel University Professor who made his claim to fame by calling for “white genocide” during the Christmas break is now in the spotlight again after tweeting disgust over a U.S. soldier being given a first class seat on a flight.

He was rightfully ripped apart by the Twitterverse.  George Ciccariello has since gone dark.   Before he went into the internet witness protection program from his Drexel University safe space, he had this to say.

“Two days after U.S. airstrikes incinerated an estimated 200 civilians in the Iraqi city of Mosul, I sent a personal tweet in reaction to what I considered a smug and self-congratulatory gesture by a first-class passenger toward a uniformed soldier. Maybe predictably, my tweet has since been fed into and misrepresented by the outrage machine that is right-wing media. Needless to say, my personal views expressed off-campus have absolutely nothing to do with those of my employer, Drexel University.”

It wasn’t his first encounter with stupidity, over the Christmas break, he did this…

The Drexel University Facebook page has since been flooded with people calling for Ciccariello’s termination and voicing their disgust in this lost liberal professor’s disgusting remarks.

After posting his Christmas Eve white genocide statement, he was allowed to keep his job. It is uncertain if he will remain employed by Drexel at this time.

TUCKER CARLSON EMBARRASSES Liberal Professor Who Said He “Wanted To Vomit” After Passenger Gave Up 1st Class Seat To U.S. Soldier

Unfortunately, this Drexel University professor’s comments are not so uncommon from leftist academia in America. The majority of educators in our institutions of higher learning are spreading leftist propaganda like a cancer on campuses across America…

A Drexel University professor – who said he wanted to “vomit” after he saw an airline passenger give their first-class seat to a U.S. soldier – engaged in a heated debate tonight with Tucker Carlson.

George Ciccariello-Maher argued that it’s “irresponsible” to blindly support wars that lead to the deaths of Americans and foreign civilians, so he wanted to “yell about Mosul” when he saw the act of kindness on the plane.

Tucker pointed out that Ciccariello-Maher’s issue appears to be with U.S. foreign policy-makers, yet he’s blaming the soldiers.

“Why is it bad to give them a first-class seat?” Tucker asked. “Somebody’s trying to be nice to guy who’s going through all these hardships … and that makes you mad. Why?”

“The public has the right to record, but not at my expense as an attorney,” said an attorney at a recent Lakewood Planning Board meeting. The video captured by Lakewood’s First Amendment Activist shows how developers and those representing them at contentious planning boards and zoning boards across northern Ocean County are starting to feel the heat as pressure increases across the board to cease irresponsible growth in that part of the county.

The Lakewood First Amendment Activist claimed the attorney was trying to remove him from recording the public meeting.

SpaceX launched its first recycled rocket Thursday, the biggest leap yet in its bid to drive down costs and speed up flights. The Falcon 9 blasted off from Florida’s Kennedy Space Center, hoisting a broadcasting satellite into the early evening clear sky on the historic rocket reflight. It was the first time SpaceX founder Elon Musk tried to fly a booster that soared before on an orbital mission.

This particular first stage landed on an ocean platform almost exactly a year ago after a space station launch for NASA. SpaceX refurbished and tested the 15-foot booster, still sporting its nine original engines. It aimed for another vertical landing at sea once it was finished boosting the satellite for the SES company of Luxembourg. Longtime customer SES got a discount for agreeing to use a salvaged rocket, but wouldn’t say how much. It’s not just about the savings, said chief technology officer Martin Halliwell.

Halliwell called it “a big step for everybody — something that’s never, ever been done before.” SpaceX granted SES insight into the entire process of getting the booster ready to fly again, Halliwell said, providing confidence everything would go well. SES, in fact, is considering more launches later this year on reused Falcon boosters.
