MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD—Sean Charles Wright IV, 19, has been arrested for allegedly conducting an armed carjacking and multiple armed robberies on Tuesday.

On Tuesday morning, at around 8:02 a.m., Montgomery County’s 2nd District officers were dispatched to the 7100 block of Democracy Boulevard after receiving reports of an armed carjacking. Detectives’ initial findings suggest that Wright IV, clad in a black Scarface t-shirt, coerced the driver of a gray Toyota Sienna minivan to exit the vehicle and hand over the keys by implying he was armed.

Shortly thereafter, at approximately 9:18 a.m., Wright IV reportedly committed an armed robbery in the 100 block of Rollins Avenue. Entering a store, he attempted to rob the cashier but ended up grabbing cash from the counter when the employee resisted. He fled the scene in the stolen minivan.

Continuing his crime spree, Wright IV was spotted at around 9:25 a.m. at a 7-Eleven on Rockville Pike, where he assaulted an employee and stole cash from the register. An observant officer, responding to another call in the vicinity, noticed Wright IV matching the suspect’s description. The officer’s attempt to intercept resulted in a brief chase on foot, culminating in Wright IV’s arrest without further incident.

The rapid response and coordination between different police units played a crucial role in the apprehension of the suspect, who is now facing multiple charges related to armed robbery and carjacking. Further details of the case are pending as the investigation continues.
