Asian Woman Harrassed, Spat on in NYC Subway Station

NEW YORK CITY, NY – The New York City Police Department has issued a public request for assistance in identifying an individual involved in an aggravated harassment incident.

This incident happened on Monday, July 17, at around 2:10 pm.

The victim, a 30-year-old woman, was standing at the Bergen Street subway station’s northbound platform when an unknown individual initiated a verbal dispute with her.

Both boarded a northbound train, where the individual continued to make anti-Asian remarks towards the woman and spat on her. The individual then disembarked at the Atlantic Avenue subway station.

The victim did not sustain any physical injuries but sought a private medical evaluation following the incident. The New York City Police Department asked anyone with information relevant to this case to reach out to them.
