Cumberland police say suspect was taken into custody on bench warrant tied to trespassing case

CUMBERLAND, Md. — A Baltimore man was taken into custody and ordered held without bond after Cumberland police served a bench warrant related to a probation violation, authorities said Friday.

According to the Cumberland Police Department, officers arrested 45-year-old Perry Nelson Hamilton Jr. on Thursday.

Police said Hamilton was on probation stemming from a prior trespassing conviction when the warrant was issued.

Hamilton was transported to the Allegany County Detention Center for central booking.

Following a hearing before a District Court commissioner, Hamilton was ordered held without bond.
