Brick police issue halloween safety warnings and curfew reminders

BRICK, NJ – As hundreds of trick-or-treaters hit the streets tonight, the Brick Township Police Department is urging residents to follow key safety rules and comply with curfew and parking restrictions in place for Halloween.

Police emphasized that their top priority is ensuring a safe and enjoyable evening for all families celebrating in Brick’s neighborhoods.

A township-wide juvenile curfew and temporary no-parking order are among the measures being enforced to prevent accidents and vandalism during the festivities.

Police remind families to ‘be seen to be safe’

The department encouraged parents to equip children with flashlights or glow sticks and use reflective tape on costumes to make them more visible to drivers. Officials also reminded residents to cross only at marked intersections, check all candy before consumption, and ensure children travel in groups or with an adult.

Curfew strictly enforced

Under township ordinance, anyone under 18 is prohibited from being in public spaces between 8 p.m. Friday and 6 a.m. Saturday unless accompanied by a parent or guardian. Police said the curfew helps prevent vandalism and ensures a safe environment for youth during Halloween night.

Lake Riviera parking restrictions

To manage heavy pedestrian traffic, a no-parking order is in effect on several Lake Riviera streets from 6 a.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Saturday, including portions of Montana Drive, Pine Tree Drive, and the entire length of Huxley Drive. Vehicles violating the restriction may be ticketed or towed at the owner’s expense.

Increased patrols and community cooperation

Brick police said additional patrols will be on duty throughout the township to assist residents and maintain safety. Drivers are being urged to slow down, stay alert, and avoid distractions. The department also encouraged residents to report any suspicious activity by calling 9-1-1 in emergencies or (732) 262-1100 for non-emergencies.
