Brick township begins annual curbside christmas tree collection

BRICK TOWNSHIP, NJ – Brick Township’s Department of Public Works has begun its annual curbside collection of Christmas trees, with pickup running through January 26 according to residents’ recycling days. The collection effort ensures all discarded trees are recycled into mulch, continuing the township’s commitment to environmental sustainability.

Residents whose recycling day is Monday will have trees collected from January 5–7, Tuesday from January 8–12, Wednesday from January 13–15, Thursday from January 16–21, and Friday from January 22–26. Trees must be placed curbside before 6 a.m. on the first day of the assigned collection period.

For those who prefer drop-off service, trees can be brought to the Brick Township Public Works Recycling Center at 836 Ridge Road, open Monday through Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. A collection container is also available at the Drum Point Sports Complex beginning January 5.

In addition, Ocean County residents have the option of dropping off trees at the Northern Ocean County Recycling Center, located at 535 South Oberlin Avenue in Lakewood Township, or at the Ocean County Golf Course at Forge Pond on Chambers Bridge Road through January 31.

All trees collected through township and county programs will be processed into mulch for reuse, supporting Brick’s ongoing environmental and waste reduction initiatives.
