New York, NY – On Saturday, May 6, 2023, the area of the Hudson River Greenway and West 48th St will experience celebratory blank cannon fire between approximately 10:05 – 10:10 a.m. The cannon fire is in support of the PCU USS Cooperstown Commissioning Ceremony and rehearsal.

The cannon will fire approximately 19 times during the ceremony, which marks a significant milestone in the life of the USS Cooperstown.

The ship, named after the village of Cooperstown in upstate New York, will soon be officially commissioned into the United States Navy.
