COLUMBUS, Ohio – Two suspects are facing charges after police say they were caught breaking into vehicles across multiple neighborhoods late Sunday night and early Monday morning.
Officers were first called to the 1000 block of Viewpointe Drive around 11:46 p.m. on a report of two males in ski masks entering parked cars. A second call came roughly 30 minutes later from the 4000 block of Nipigon Drive, describing two black males wearing dark clothing looking into vehicles.

Responding officers soon spotted a blacked-out Hyundai leaving the area and conducted a traffic stop at Parsons Avenue and Rathmell Road. The occupants — 18-year-old Jayden Banks and a 17-year-old juvenile — matched the suspects’ description. Inside the car, police found two wallets containing IDs and credit cards belonging to reported victims.
Both suspects were charged with receiving stolen property and taken into custody. Police say the arrests stemmed from swift coordination between responding units and alert residents who reported the suspicious activity.
For neighbors on Columbus’s south side, the late-night theft spree ended as quickly as it began.
