D.C. Police on the Lookout for Suspect Following Gun Assault

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The D.C. Metro Police Department’s First District is actively searching for a suspect involved in an armed assault incident. The event, which involved gunfire but resulted in no injuries, occurred on Independence Avenue.

On the evening of Wednesday, officers were dispatched to the 1500 block of Independence Avenue after reports of gunshots were received. A vehicle was found at the scene, damaged by bullets, although no one was harmed. The investigation pointed to the suspect firing a handgun towards individuals before escaping.

Identified as 41-year-old Kevin Snead, from Southeast, D.C., and Jumping Branch, WV, he is now the subject of a search. Snead, wanted for Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) as per a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, was last seen driving a black Ford Mustang with West Virginia plates N3X894.
