UPPER MARLBORO, MD—A tragic incident unfolded early this morning on Route 4/Pennsylvania Avenue when a high-speed collision resulted in three fatalities. Maryland State Police are currently investigating the circumstances of the crash.

The victims have been identified as Isaiah Hazel, 23, and Anthony Lytton, Jr., 24, both from Upper Marlboro, along with Khyree Jackson, 24, of Waldorf. Hazel and Jackson were declared deceased at the scene, while Lytton succumbed to his injuries after being transported to the University of Maryland Capital Region Medical Center.

The crash occurred shortly after 3:14 AM near the intersection with Presidential Parkway, involving a maroon Dodge Charger driven by Hazel, a silver Infiniti Q50, and a silver Chevrolet Impala. Reports indicate that the Infiniti, driven by 23-year-old Cori Clingman of Upper Marlboro, was changing lanes at a high speed, which led to the collision with the Charger and subsequently the Impala.

The Charger veered off the road following the impact, hitting multiple tree stumps before coming to a stop. Clingman and her two passengers, as well as the driver of the Impala, were reported uninjured.

The northbound lanes of Route 4 were closed for several hours, reopening around 10:20 AM. Preliminary findings suggest alcohol may have played a role in the crash, adding another layer of complexity to the ongoing investigation.
