Surveillance images released in 2025 Knox Place homicide as $25,000 reward offered
WASHINGTON, DC – A 37-year-old Southeast man was shot and killed inside a residential building on Knox Place last year, and police have now released updated video and photos as they search for the suspect.
The fatal shooting occurred on Sunday, Feb. 16, 2025, at approximately 10:00 p.m. in the 2900 block of Knox Place, Southeast.
Seventh District officers responded to reports of gunfire inside a residential building and located an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds. DC Fire and EMS responded to the scene, but despite lifesaving efforts, the victim was pronounced dead.
The victim was identified as 37-year-old William Williams of Southeast, D.C.

Investigators say a suspect was captured on nearby surveillance cameras. Updated photos and video of the individual have been released as detectives work to identify and locate the person responsible.
The investigation remains ongoing.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 202-727-9099 or text a tip to 50411. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for homicides in the District of Columbia.
