NEWARK, NJ – The Newark Public Safety Director, Fritz G. Fragé, is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a female suspect involved in a business burglary. The incident occurred on Saturday, at the Paraiso Bar on the 400 block of Orange Street.
Around 7:17 a.m., the suspect, who had spent the night in the bar’s bathroom, woke up and took $1,052 from the cash register. She also took between $200 and $300 from the bar’s lottery ticket machine.
The suspect left the bar through the basement between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m.
The suspect is described as a Black woman with a medium build, wearing blue jeans and a white T-shirt featuring MTV logos. Detectives are actively seeking information that could lead to her identification.
Director Fragé asked anyone with information about the suspect’s identity to contact the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All tips received will be kept confidential and could result in a reward.
