Dog walker assaulted after photographing suspicious vehicle in Severna Park

Severna Park, MD – A man walking his dog Wednesday evening was assaulted after taking a photo of a vehicle he believed was linked to drug activity.

The attacker confronted the victim on Alston Place after seeing the photo being taken.

The suspect stole the victim’s phone before driving away.

Officers responded around 6:45 p.m. after receiving the report of an assault and theft involving the victim and the driver of the photographed vehicle.

Investigators learned the victim had been documenting the vehicle due to concerns about possible drug activity in the area.

The driver exited the vehicle, assaulted the victim, took the cellphone, and fled the scene.

Police release suspect description

Detectives described the suspect as a white male in his 20s, about 5 feet 10 inches tall with a medium build and dark curly hair.

Investigators are working to identify the vehicle involved and any potential witnesses in the neighborhood at the time.
