Dover- Delaware State Police arrested Marquise McQueen, 25, of Doverfor burglary and related charges following an incident early Tuesday morning.

On February 1, 2022, at approximately 4:39 a.m., troopers responded to Harris Towing located at 5360 North Dupont Highway, Dover for a burglary in progress. Troopers responded to a report of a suspect inside of a fenced in area actively attempting to remove a 2006 Toyota Highlander. Troopers and an officer from Cheswold Police Department were able to locate the suspect inside the fenced area and took him into custody without incident.

The suspect identified as Marquise McQueen was transported to Troop 3. Through investigative means troopers were able to determine McQueen was the suspect in two previous burglaries at Harris towing in late January. McQueen was then charged with the following crimes:

  • Burglary Third Degree (Felony)- 3 counts
  • Theft of a Motor Vehicle (Felony)
  • Attempted Theft of a Motor Vehicle (Felony)- 2 counts
  • Theft Under $1,500- 2 counts
  • Attempted Theft Under $1,500
  • Carrying a Concealed Dangerous Instrument
  • Criminal Trespass 2nd Degree-3 counts
  • Possession of Marijuana
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Criminal Mischief Under $1,000

McQueen was arraigned in the Justice of the Peace Court #2 and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $9,601 secured bond.
