Asheville woman charged after hotel room drug discovery
ASHEVILLE, NC — A parole violator arrested earlier this month in West Asheville is now facing a series of drug trafficking charges after investigators uncovered methamphetamine, fentanyl, and drug paraphernalia in a hotel room tied to the suspect.
Keisha Moore was taken into custody on October 6 by the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office Illegal Gun Reduction and Narcotics Task Force (IGRANT) in coordination with the US Marshals Carolinas Regional Fugitive Task Force. The arrest occurred at 40 Monte Vista Road, where Moore was wanted on outstanding felony warrants including parole violation, possession of burglary tools, and breaking and entering into a motor vehicle.
After Moore’s arrest, deputies found illegal narcotics in her possession, which led to a follow-up investigation. That intelligence allowed investigators to secure a search warrant for a nearby hotel room she had been occupying.
Inside the room, authorities seized 33.3 grams of methamphetamine, 3.2 grams of fentanyl, and digital scales. Moore now faces several new felony charges including:
- Trafficking in Opium/Heroin Methamphetamine by Possession (Level I)
- Possession with Intent to Manufacture/Sell/Deliver (Fentanyl)
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
The investigation is being cited by both the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office and the US Marshals Task Force as a successful example of coordinated law enforcement targeting repeat offenders and removing deadly substances from the community.
