BALTIMORE, Md. — Two men have been arrested and charged with first-degree murder in the fatal shooting of 30-year-old Christopher Banks, who was gunned down in the city’s Northwest District in March.

Joseph Hubbard, 33, and Darius Bell, 32, were taken into custody on June 20 by Baltimore Police Warrant Apprehension detectives and U.S. Marshals. The arrests took place at a residence in Baltimore County.

Both suspects were transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where they were formally charged in connection with the March 15 shooting that occurred in the 5400 block of Park Heights Avenue.

Shooting Followed by Weeks-Long Investigation

On the night of March 15 at approximately 9:44 p.m., patrol officers responded to reports of a shooting on Park Heights Avenue. They arrived to find Banks suffering from gunshot wounds. He was rushed to an area hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Investigators worked for more than three months before identifying Hubbard and Bell as the alleged perpetrators.

Suspects Now Await Trial

Authorities have not disclosed a motive for the killing or the connection, if any, between the suspects and the victim. The arrests mark a key development in the ongoing investigation.

Both men remain in custody as they await trial on murder charges.
