Police say robbery suspect slipped away from custody during hospital treatment before being re-arrested without incident

BALTIMORE, Md. — A Baltimore prisoner who escaped police custody while receiving treatment at a hospital has been captured days later after officers spotted him walking along a city street, police announced Friday.

Brian Myers, who escaped custody on May 8 while being treated for injuries at an area hospital, was re-arrested Tuesday evening by Western District patrol officers, according to the Baltimore Police Department.

Police said officers located Myers around 6:20 p.m. in the 900 block of Harlem Avenue.

Authorities said Myers was taken into custody without incident.

Following the arrest, Myers was transported back to a hospital to continue treatment for the injury connected to his original arrest while remaining under police custody.

Police said Myers will be transferred to the Central Booking Intake Facility after his hospital discharge.

Investigators said Myers is expected to face additional charges related to the escape along with his original charges involving robbery and handgun violations.

The circumstances surrounding the escape remain under investigation.
