Accokeek, MD – The Prince George’s County Police Department is examining a deadly single-vehicle crash that occurred in Accokeek, resulting in the death of a passenger. The deceased, identified as Cadence Cox, a 20-year-old from Capitol Heights, was declared dead at the crash site.
The incident was reported early on Monday, October 7, at around 3:30 a.m., when officers were dispatched to the collision on Bryans Point Road. Upon arrival, they found the remains of the vehicle and discovered Cox had died instantly from the impact. The driver, who sustained non-life-threatening injuries, was transported to a local hospital for further evaluation and care.
Initial findings from the investigation indicate that the vehicle was traveling west on Bryans Point Road when the driver lost control and collided with a tree. The reasons behind the loss of control are yet to be determined as investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
